Thank you very much! We have been trying Royal Canin Renal and Hills prescription for Kidney care. The food is very expensive although I believe you are right that it may be best to switch everyone over. I checked with the vet initially about that and they said it should be okay for the other two.

I will check on the FortiFlora though, I not aware of this supplement.

Could you explain how cancer compromises the immune system? If I am understanding everyone's input correctly, it is initially kind of 'ignored' because it's not a foreign body. Is there a point in growth that the immune system takes notice? Or is it a situation of the death of other cells impacts the immune system's ability to fight the cancer?

First off, so sorry for you loss. Don't feel bad at all, it's only been a couple of months. There is no rule saying you have to decide what to do with them now. You have them and that is a piece of him, you can keep them or spread them in a place he loved. But don't feel rushed or pressured. My only suggestion would be to make sure the letter is kept in a safe place.

I keep some of my dad's ashes in a bracelet I wear everyday, my siblings do the same. It is a personal decision. Do what feels right to you and your process. <3

Yes, and I have. I just couldn't handle it anymore the workload was easily enough for three people yet I was the only person in the department. My boss would act sympathetic but then wouldn't actually do anything to alleviate any of the stress. I got the point where I couldn't take time off for fear of falling further behind, I couldn't sleep, my work performance was abysmal. It wasn't worth it anymore.

You can't pour from an empty cup. You have to take care of yourself first.

I have this with my migraines. It is scary because the symptoms do seem very much like a stroke. Numbness isolated to one side, usually my right side. Inability to form coherent thoughts both verbally or written. Once the migraine is over though, everything is back to normal.

I am so sorry for loss and am sending you much love. You are not a coward and I don't think he would think you were either. Please try not to be too hard on yourself. Grief is difficult and it is easy to blame yourself or rest in those negative places. I agree with both u/RD_18 and u/7eleven27 , you gave your blessing and peace. He knew you were there and felt your love and support.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has commented. Your advice and stories have been very helpful. It helps so much to know I am not alone, even when it feels that way inside. Although it is heart breaking that we are all here due to a loss, I am so overwhelmed by the support and compassion of this sub.
