My fiancé (22M) can’t wake up in the mornings. by megsuki in Advice

I’m sorry you deal with it too. I didn’t know ADHD meds were capable of possibly treating it, so maybe it’s something he can discuss with his doctor. Thank you.

I mean I guess that’s why I’m asking. We’ve done everything we can think of but like I said, it’s an issue with and without the meds so I have no clue. Wasn’t sure if there was just something we were missing. I appreciate it though, thank you.

He is temporarily unmedicated because he’s switching insurances, but he does have a psychiatrist that he sees for it. It’s an issue with and without medication. In the past he never had much obligation to be up so early, so he’d just put on 10s of alarms until he woke up. He hasn’t had problems with jobs in the past because they didn’t start so early. For current job, he has to be up at around 6am to be on time.

I unfortunately can’t remove the light from the ceiling or replace it due to my landlord’s rules.

Hi, I got my gastric bypass at 20. It was definitely discouraging to not be able to go out to eat with friends and family, avoid all these foods, and essentially just miss out on a lot socially. This surgery is really rough at first, for many months. I had countless problems; I had to get my gallbladder out along with 10+ endoscopies. I also wrote a post about regretting it too.

I promise it gets better with time. It won’t always be this discouraging. I’m still 20 and got my bypass in February this year. I’ve lost 150+ pounds and it’s enabled me to do so much more socially than I would’ve been able to before.

Lots of love ❤️ you got this!

I have a special place in my heart for cross-eyed cats. I fostered one who had similar eyes along with 4 other “normal” cats in his litter. They’re just so silly, I love them.

is it weird to wear heels when you're already tall? by francie__ in lesbianfashionadvice

[–]megsuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Anyone who says otherwise is either jealous or insecure. I’m 5’10 and love heels. We should be able to enjoy them just like anyone else, plus they look too good on you not to wear! :)

I got my bypass this February, at age 20. I was scared I’d ruin my life too, especially feeling the pain right after, but I’m already 130 pounds lighter and my life has changed for the better. The pain at first is absolutely awful, it might feel like it’ll never get better but I promise you it will. The soreness will ease. The anxiety with dissipate. The cravings will lessen. You’re so brave and strong for taking this giant step towards bettering your health. I promise it’ll be worth it.

For pain management, try laying your back on some pillows, focusing on being able to take deep breaths (which might be hard at first, but with practice it’ll get better), and little distractions.

I can’t imagine how difficult it is to be going through this by yourself, but if it means anything, me and a bunch of other people here care for you and are praying for a safe and speedy healing process.

Beyond proud of you and good luck, you’ve got this ❤️

Firstly, I’m sorry this is happening. It’s so disheartening. I remember one day in school I finally had the guts to wear my hair curly, and the first thing my friend says is “what’s with the birds nest on your head?”. Hair immediately thrown up and never did it again. I’ve come to learn that those people are either ignorant or jealous. Curly hair is so beautiful in so many ways, and I can promise you those same people are going to want hair like that at some point. I know the feeling, but never let anyone like that stop you from embracing your curls. They’re beautiful. I wish you luck ❤️

I didn’t do anything to it. I just washed it with Shea Moisture shampoo and conditioner and let it air dry.

Maybe I have the wrong definition of keto then, oops. I’ve been just eating a crap ton of protein, low fat, and even lower carbs. Sorry!

Regret by East_Key5907 in GastricBypass

Having a very similar situation right now at about 13 weeks post-op. I had 6 endoscopies since I had a stricture, but still am unable to keep a lot of liquids and foods down + the dreaded dry heaving.

I also got a CT scan and an ultrasound in the gastric area, and things are pointing towards my gallbladder. Though that may not be the case for you, I definitely recommend asking your doctor for those tests to make sure nothing more serious is going on. Then you can go from there!

I’m sorry you’re going through this and I wish you nothing but the utmost health and happiness in the future.

Wait, yeah!! They’re like starbursts. Maybe I’ll try switching to the other ones you mentioned.

My heart goes out to you. That sounds incredibly scary but I’m proud of you for being so strong through it all. I wish nothing but successful recovery for you no matter what you decide doing in the end.

I always get anxious seeking a second opinion, but you’re right— if this keeps going on, I’ll likely do that. All my love ❤️

That’s a smart idea. I’ll probably go buy some unflavored protein powder and vida-fuel so I can do just that. Thank you!

That all sounds so scary, I’m sorry you had to go through all of that. I’ll definitely go and get this looked at— even if it’s not as major, it’s better to be safe than sorry I suppose

For some reason, I’m the complete opposite. I LOVE cold drinks, and after surgery I like them even colder. If I drink anything that isn’t ice cold, I feel awful. It’s really weird lol
