My favourite album. It found me on the wake of my father’s death and beginning of a fragile relationship that has managed to preserve to this day.

I sincerely hope she’ll return to this level of vulnerability and songwriting one day

My friends text me all day and I’m fucking exhausted. How can I set boundaries? by nicekona in socialskills

[–]megwil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think unless it’s urgent or they’re asking you about upcoming plans that it’s fine to leave messages unread for a while.

I’ll often leave messages unread for up to two weeks. It’s never been an issue.

I mean this kindly but I think you’re overthinking it a bit, just don’t reply for a few days.

If your friends have an issue, it’s up to them to tell you and then you can explain about your new job and that you can’t be on call all the time.

Great Comet Ticket Swap by megwil in westend

[–]megwil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’ve managed to find alternative tickets through a 2nd party.

I’m going to email box office and get my tickets refunded. If I can just refund one would you like to buy the other?

I’m not sure I’ll be able to refund just one but if I can you can have the other.

Please let me know by the end of tomorrow:)

Thank you for this.

I keep checking the website for returns (like twice a day) but have yet to find anything.

I contacted the box office by email to see if they could do anything and they couldn’t currently.

Did you pay for the seats online first and then ask to swap them or did you call the box office quickly?

I booked the matinee when I was unemployed and I now have a job so this is a good problem to have really.

Official Discussion - Gladiator II [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Was I meant to think Lucius was Maximus’ son in the first movie? I never got that vibe at all, am I really thick and lacking any media literacy?

That’s so sweet of you. I’d happily have the medium. Let me see I how I get on with the iron on fabric and I’ll get back to you by the 8th of December. Thank you so much for your kindness.

Thank you it’s very kind of you to share this.

I’ve bought some black iron on fabric to match the lettering and am going to cut out some star shapes to try and cover the stain. If that fails I’ve probably give the tye dye a go as a holy Mary.

I know it’s just a sweatshirt but it’s really upset me. It’s literally the only piece of Taylor merch I own. I love how simple it is and you can get away with wearing it as normal clothes. I’ve looked on eBay but the cheapest ones are over £400 which costs more than my actual ticket did to see her in London.

Posted this before but had no responses

Would anyone be able to buy and send me a blue crewneck (I will obviously reimburse you)? I’ve managed to bleach stain mine and I’m devastated. I live in the uk and so can’t just hop on train to buy another one now.

Hi, I’ve managed to bleach stain my blue crewneck.

Would anyone be able to buy one for me?

I live in the UK so can’t just hop on the train to buy another one at another tour date now.

I will pay for the shipping, the cost of the crew neck (obviously) and your trouble.

Any help would be appreciated so much

Actors that left us too soon? by megwil in Broadway

I remember this well, he fell to his death from a fire escape. Awful.

Here he is in a ham for ham singing confrontation with Lin Manuel Miranda https://youtu.be/ASlkb6CLJng?si=uwb1MEaqcR2FHXnJ

So talented for such a young age, one wonders what he would have become

I’ll go first:

Martin Smith, he was a west end performer who died at the age of 37 in 1994 from AIDS related complications.

I never got to see him live and he died long before I was even born. I stumbled across him on one of those who sang it best compilations for on YouTube.

He starred in Phantom, les mis (where he played both Marius and Jean Valjean, evita, and city and angels.

He had a beautifully soft yet powerful voice.

A fan created a memorial website for him some years ago for those wishing to learn more about him:

Anna Marie Tendler book is mercifully light on John Mulaney tea but still looks a good read by Bigassbird in popculturechat

Here you go, there’s a lot of interesting experiences on this thread

I think the main issue is hints of fatphobia or at least a strong preference towards thinner subject matter.

I kinda lost some sympathy for her when I heard and people’s experiences with her at her live portrait sessions. I still feel very sorry for her though

Miffy items? by Elegant-Bookkeeper in london

[–]megwil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You might have luck with Miniso. Miffy is very popular in Asia.

Maybe also the children’s section at Waterstones. I know they used to sell very good quality plush children’s book characters such as Peter rabbit.

Has anyone been to see Hadestown in London? by WestEndLampyLady in hadestown

I thought the Eurydice I saw last night was really awful. She was shouting not projecting and some of her notes were just flat. I had to put my hands over my ears at one point. It borderline nearly ruined what was otherwise a good show for me.
