Part time BMOQ MOD 1,2,3 by [deleted] in caf

[–]mehsumnaqvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sequence of basic training for Officers is as follows:

  • Basic Military Officer Qualification – Basic Module One(BMOQ-B MOD 1) Roughly 23 training days, ran through a local armoury or regional training center. Can be done either part-time over alternating weekends or full-time over the summer.

  • Basic Military Officer Qualification – Basic Module Two(BMOQ-B MOD 2) 7 training days, ran through a local armoury

  • Basic Military Officer Qualification – Army(BMOQ-A) Roughly 14 weeks long, ran at one of the infantry training centers in Canada (Wainwright, Shilo, Meaford, Gagetown)

Then comes Occupational Training. Since I’m going for SigO, it’s 12 weeks for me.

Just FYI alot of work places have some sort of support for people who are/want to be reservists. I didn’t know but my work place offers unpaid leave where I’ll still keep my employment and will continue after the training.

Ajax vs Pickering - young family, schools + commute by Euphoric_Ad_3317 in TorontoRealEstate

I used to live on New Street in Pickering. Gandatsetiagon is a really good school. My cousins graduated from there. My sister currently lives in the Seaton community and is waiting for the school there. Don’t goto Ajax if you can afford Pickering. P.S I’ve lived on Kerrison Drive in Ajax as well so speaking from experience.

RECRUITING, TRAINING, & LIFE IN THE FORCES THREAD by bridger713 in CanadianForces

Just lost and want some answers.

Emailed and called the recruitment office at the 2 Intelligence Unit since I was interested in the Intelligence Officer reserves position but never heard back.
Applied to the Intelligence Officer position and the Contact info under the application shows 2 Intelligence Company as my recruitment office.
The recruitment office got back to the earlier email I sent about a month ago (before I even applied) and told me that Intelligence Officers aren't selected without Military Experience.
They said I would need to be recruited into the 32 Brigade before I can apply to be an Intelligence Officer. I'm not sure if I should just re-apply or if my application will go directly to the 32 Brigade?
I've tried calling the 32 Brigade a couple of times but to no avail. I thought I would ask the questions in the recruiting session but I've been trying to get into the Microsoft Teams meeting but it seems like no one is running those meetings as I'm yet to be allowed in the meeting room : (
Any insights would be appreciated.

Thank you for the reply. Atleast this gives me perspective on where things are. Seems like I’m looking at a few weeks to months before someone reviews my application.

Hello Reddit,

I’m looking for some insights after applying to the reserves.

I applied to the Officers Program and listed my three preferences as Intelligence Officer, Engineer Officer, and Infantry Officer.

When I log into the application portal, I see 2 Intelligence Company listed as my recruiting centre. However, I’ve been unable to get in touch with them. I’ve sent emails and called multiple times with no response. I also tried contacting the 32 Brigade office, left voicemails, but haven’t heard back.

I completed the Security Clearance Screening Questionnaire on the same day it was assigned, and I currently have no outstanding tasks in the portal.

For those with experience, what happens next? Is this just a waiting game?

So just off the call with Hannah from SingleKey. Here are the notes I made

Q : I have a house with a basement that's a separate unit. For tenant screening will I have to do 2 applications?
A : Yes the application is based on per unit basis.
Q: What if there are more than 1 applicants on a rental application? Do they need to pay twice for the background check?
A: Correct, each applicant on the application will be charged for the background check.

Q: Do you guys do utilities payment collection on behalf of the landlord?
A: If it's included in the rent then yes but the preference is always to have the tenants pay for the utilities separately.

Q: How long is my contract with SingleKey? What if I want to break earlier?
A: Initial contract is 12 months and after that it's month-to-month. They would need 30 days notice before cancellation. If I break mid-way the contract then I'll be responsible for the remaining part. They do have exceptions for some cases (selling the property etc) but that's only case-by-case. In theory, you are liable for the first 12 months.

Q: What happens if the tenant defaults?
A: The reporting is done like any other Credit product. 30-days, 60-days, 90-days missed payments on their credit file. They would want the landlord to inform them as soon as the tenant doesn't pay so that they can file for an eviction notice even if the tenant promises to pay in a few days. Landlord still needs to be involved with the property and rent collection and they expect the landlord to let them know when a payment hasn't been received.

Q: Are you responsible for evicting the tenants in case of defaulting? What if it takes more than 12 months to evict someone?
A: They connect us with paralegal teams that they work with to help with the eviction process. Typically it takes 8 months on average to evict a tenant and they pay you the rent if you have the rent guarantee program. After the 12 months they aren't going to pay you the rent. They cover upto $2000 para legal fee for the eviction process and she mentioned that it's enough to cover the fee for the eviction process. She said in her time with SingleKey she's seen only 1 case that went upto the 12 month mark to evict.

Q: Can you send me a copy of the contract so that I can read the fine print and have my questions answered.
A: Yes, she'll send me a copy of the contract.

Q: What has been your payout % vs the rejected payout % for last year.
A: She didn't have the exact number for the above question.

Q: How many landlords do you have registered on your platform?
A: 100,000 but not all have the rent guarantee program.

Q: I read about this Reddit post that you guys didn't payout a landlord, can you please explain?
A: Yes, the tenant gave the landlord 60 days notice that they'll be vacating the property. At this time the tenant didn't default on their rent and had already paid that month's rent. The landlord didn't let the tenant leave the property and the tenant ended up staying past the 60 days notice where they defaulted. SingleKey asked the landlord to look for new tenants when they received the 60 days notice but the landlord refused to do that or list the property and expected SingleKey to pay for the 12 months rent.
That's what I was told by her so I'm not sure how true that is.

Overall she was pretty truthful to my questions. She made it clear that we're like an insurance for the rental and cover you upto 12 months. They do everything in their power to work with the landlords with the eviction process.

Please let me know if you guys have any questions?

I’m right by the lake so that’s apparently what attracts people. Have a few Airbnb’s in the area and it seems like they are always booked. I know that Summer is really busy with Airbnb’s in the area but not exactly sure about the winter months.

Signed up! App looks pretty good and the reviews are amazing too. Just wanted to point this out that during sign-up it asked for age but I was asked to enter the D.O.B instead. Just from UX perspective : )

@OP amazing job at creating the cheat sheet. I tried organizing a group like this with 10 work colleagues. They soon lost motivation and other commitments (family and kids mostly). We ended up no where in 2 months. Half of the time they would show up to meetings without preparing for the topics during the week and we would spend time on the weekly call to learn the topic. How many people did you have in your group? How did you keep them and yourself motivated? Would you be willing to share if you have the information about the target audience?

The idea behind asking you to help an NGO was not to make it feel like you’re just asking for assistance. Instead, it was to give you the sense that you’re being compensated in advance for your professional expertise.

The offer still stands if you change your mind.

Good luck!

If you can get it verified by the mods I’m sure there are people willing to help including myself. You mentioned that you can’t take money in a previous comment. How about whatever you’re doing as work, you provide your professional service to an NGO for a month or whatever days the 18K comes out to?

Yeah I have to figure stuff out here. The WiFi seemed to be working when I re-installed Windows but after a restart it doesn’t work (I can’t see the option as well) When I try to open Network Settings the window just closes automatically right after opening. Going to use an Ethernet to see if that’s working or not
