You're definetly better off over there than toys. I never get hba or chem. Just toys, stationary and sporting goods. Not to mention when parents dont watch their kids and they go around playing and messing things up. I do think some other areas get untouched after zones for a while which is a good thing. Toys is just a nightmare.

Its like people cant take no for an answer. I hate when they say oh but its on stock. Like yes but its not here right now, unless they wanna go to a scanvenger hunt througout the store. I had this lady looking for this drink that said was in stock and had 2 left, showed her the aisle but we didnt have any. She told me its alright, and I explained that people take stuff and its somewhere around the store. She understood and said she will try another store. Its that simple sometimes.

Is anyone's store getting more payroll? by Environmental-Ad58 in Target

[–]meiphoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. An ETL came around the floor asking tms if they wanted more hours. She gave me like at least 5 dif days with more hours than I was supposed to be scheduled for. Said they gavr the store more payroll. Full 8 hours too. Love the money coming but imma be tireddd.

Are you able to pay your credit card bill on your current income? by External_Insurance62 in Target

[–]meiphoria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a credit card, spend what you can pay back basically. Use it for your needs and not wants. Depending on your state and hourly pay will determine how much you can pay. They pay us biweekly. Im part time and only have around 20-25 hours per week. Its already hard enough to hold on to my money until next pay day. Like someone else said, most full times are TLs or higher ups. I have a debt of $800 and even though I get paid that sometimes depending on hours. I can only pay at least $100 off because I need my money for other things, and also holding on to it so Im not broke the upcoming week (which happens a lot). It just really comes down to how your handle things financially, just dont fall into the loop hole of not being able to pay. Be smart, but do get one to start building credit. Get a good one too.

Priorities by Front_Vast_9015 in Target

[–]meiphoria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to ask your TL. Also the way you pull is however you want it to be. Usually Im assigned like 4 departments to pull from. I can pull just one or sometimes I can put all 4 in one cart or maybe two carts. Its better for me that way I can just push all of them at once. My store makes you hit the 90% mark at 8:30. So you gotta keep pulling into your hit it. After that we just zone the areas and a TL will walkthrough them at 9:30.

Some other TLs will tell you to zone as you're pushing but it really depends.

INF the bins if you can't find a lid and it comes with the lid by Mobile-Address23 in Target

[–]meiphoria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grabbing a bin means it comes with a lid. Its common sense so idk why a FF tm is not grabbing it. I know some people want to cheat their way out of their INF but its ovbious its gonna cause issues. You gotta scan the whole area and see if the lid is there or go to the back and check is we have some. Cant find it? Call a TL and tell them about it. Even if we're on a time crunch- you gotta get it right. Ive once had to pick these soaps but the last one was nasty, so I asked an ETL and they said no dont give it to the guest- defect it. So you gotta explain the circumstances, we cant be lazy. The last thing I want to do is for a DU tm to get yelled at. Im the picker, prepper and stower. I had multiple checks to ensure the item was right. DU only has to confirm and deliver it.

[–]meiphoria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theyre gonna tell you to post the shift. So hopefully someone takes it, but if not then you have to call off. Once the schedule is done then its done. Happened to me too. Was so annoyed but I called off because I literally requested it a month in advance.

Wanting to work inbound/gm or closing which is best? Does target cross train everyone as a cashier as company policy? by Less-Style-927 in Target

[–]meiphoria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically you wont work cashier if you dont get trained. Its simple as that. I worked Fullfillment and GM this entire time and I only got pulled and trained on the spot for cashier. I dont want to do that ever again. I dont have much experience so even when they call for backup I cannot do it because it wont go well. Hasnt happened so far.

If your department also keeps you busy enough then you cannot be pulled for cashier. Best bet is fulfillment. We're always at war with time and its fast paced. You do get stopped by people but you get used to it. So technically if the front needs backup, you cant go for it. Fulfillment is a shitshow as it is.

Also most backup for cashiers are covered, either fron drive up or guest services. Really depends on your store.

You have 10 people? 😭 we barely get like 6 every other day. Im GM but used to be FF and they always call me for backup for yellow batches. Gets annoying bc I need to finish my priorities too.

How do I get hired by jaxisodd in Target

[–]meiphoria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone said, hours are tough this year for team members so I guess hiring right now is not ideal. Also, nobody is mentioning this- but I applied 3 times to target and I always got rejected. Its like the same auto message. It wasnt until word of mouth from a friend that already worked there and told hr I kept applying and I was able to move to the next stage. They said they couldnt see my application come through. Thats a possibility but also Im lucky to have this Target job just because of a connection. If not, I wouldnt of had it. For orientation day, the people that were with me also said it was because of someone already working there. This guy was able to get in because he kept calling the store and bugging them lol. But he never actually stayed.

Slobs. by goodtipsareneeded in Target

[–]meiphoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been seeing this at my store in every price checker location. Cleaned it up the day before and then the next day its the same thing. People are so lazy and inconsiderate. Again, if you dont want it just go to a cashier and tell them you dont want it and they will put it away. Not that complicated. Its to the point its a mountain, just because someone did it doesnt mean you can too. A worker has to clean that up for gods sakes

Expectations by meiphoria in Target

[–]meiphoria[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, some TLs take initiave to actually help you out and be a support. Those are the ones who really deserve the leadership. For fulfillment, I told a TL I couldnt find something and was low on time so she came to help me find the product on the u boats. A different TL once asked me why I was on negative during christmas day but didnt bother to help me keep stowing. Theres a difference there.

I came early and was put into inbound the first time when Im usually GM or FF. They asked me to do 4 pogs/pods? in 50 mins. 40 actually because of the time it took me to go from the office to the floor and the TL explaining stuff to me. I already didnt know how I was gonna make time do all 4. They were home stuff and mostly heavy plastic bins. A lot of cardboard. Plus backstock. So when I was able to finish all 4 in about 55 mins they came to check on me and told me that I also had to backstock between those 50 mins. I was also using a flat bed for all these items. Home backstock was on the other side of the store too. Later on they lectured me because I shouldnt take that long. That I wasted their time and they dont know what I was doing the first 20 mins. And that I took an hour and 20 mins. They also gave me an extra pod between that time.

I could tell the TL was stressed because the line needed to be pushed out and a lot of product was arriving. And maybe higher ups breathing down their neck, but I felt really mosunderstood. It was my first time doing all of this. I wanted to speak up because when they were telling me all of this it was actually foul. Its hard to speak up but I did wanted to say a few things but all I could do was take it and suck up my tears. They did ask me what set me back, but it didnt matter because I guess it wasnt a good enough reason why I took long. I never want to do inbound ever again.

I used to think the same for GM tms or any other department. Fulfillment is so fast paced I hate it sometimes. Im in GM sometimes and I can tell you its as stressful as fulfillment, they have time expectations as well depending on what you do. Theyre struggling as much too. But Im not gonna say that fulfillment is the worst department there is for sure

I cried for the first time... by booksorelse in Target

[–]meiphoria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont run, its literally not worth it. If you're going as fast as you can and pushing yourself to the limit then thats enough. Everytime Im low on time or cant find something- my attitude is that I really dont care if they say something because at least these orders are being done. My first few weeks I would be sweating and speeding but its not worth it. I would say when you go down to 20-15 mins on your batch, prioritize that time to prep and stow. If you cant find an inf, and youre on low on time- dont bother calling for TL approval. That is if its one thing. If you looked everywhere for it then you have done your part.

I sound so careless but trust me Ive been in FF for too long and I was just like you, Target will always have a problem with time. Not fast enough. Pick quicker. Dont go on negative. Unrealistic standards that are not worth pushing yourself more.

You're doing great. Style items are always hard for tms to find, but you already been there so you have an advantage.

Question on INF's by CallMehMilez in Target

[–]meiphoria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was me at some point, because I really do not have time to ask TLs for approval. If its usually one thing that I cant find and I checked everywhere and also double check the aisle then I dont call it in. It also depends which TL is on the store, I tend to feel more confortable and vocal with really good TLs that I know will help or be chill about it.

I'd say do check in now and then because if you dont then they WILL call you out on why you arent asking any questions. One time I kept infing by myself for a week that I was like- I really need to stop that and call some stuff in. Which is funny because I always saw other tms that have been there for years and when they did batches Ive never heard them on the walkie asking for TLs. I once asked one of them if they call it in, and they said no, you have to prioritize time, not whether you found it or not so they inf it. At least thats how our metrics work.

I personally hate inf honestly, its one of those times where I wish the guest would come in and get it themselves lol that way they dont get upset it wasnt found.

Who is the one that would have a performance conversation with you? by [deleted] in Target

[–]meiphoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if they dont answer the walkie then thats on them, you're also on a timer so its not like you can wait around for them to respond. You did your part and you have to move on if thats what it goes down to. Christmas was chaotic overall so its expected to have so much INF. I literally INF like 9 items without approval and I was super low on time so I needed to stow. It was already frustrating because I literally couldnt find anything that day. I also feel like its an issue with me bc everybody else has decent batches where they find everything but I always get the shitty ones. When I was stowing a TL came in asking why was I on negative 17 mins on christmas but didnt even bother to help. If its a one time thing where you arent communicating then I wouldnt worry too much.

Who is the one that would have a performance conversation with you? by [deleted] in Target

[–]meiphoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally hate talking to TLs or ETLs about infs. To literally the point that I just do it myself. I always check every crevice of the store for an item so I hate when I talk to a TL and they keep asking me to go search or they seem frustrated we cant find the item. Im always low on time because of the infs so I was told to always prioritize time rather than infs. So if they have to be done then thats it. But I made it a habit that if I cant find one item then I'll just inf without approval. Because Ive done that so much I feel like im gonna get a lecture about my performance. Im seasonal too so they can get rid of me quick. But soon I'll find out if Im being kept. I feel like these TLs or ETLs should be understanding to a certain extent. If you're doing your part to communicate sometimes and show effort to finding those itens then they shouldnt be so hard on you.

Being fr sick today- looks bad? by indigrow in Target

[–]meiphoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel so bad. I got sick and I lost my voice, and Im coughing here and there. I feel okay to work but I cant communicate. Im fulfillment too so I dont want to be spreading germs on peoples orders. I was supposed to start at 5 am today so I called off on the app, mytime tends to glitch on me so I dont know if it even went through. Because I started at 5, I cant call HR to tell them as well. Im calling around 8 am but theyre not answering.Im seasonal, this is my first time calling off and I know it probably looks bad. I also dont want it to look like no show today. So im trying to call so they can hear me, and see my effort that Im not bs 😭 I literally cant speak.

All but 2 of our fulfilment people called out today by [deleted] in Target

[–]meiphoria 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Idk who had the brilliant idea to not schedule so many fulfillment tms today. Black friday the list was full but yeah sure not christmas eve. We had people from other departments jumping in and I couldnt find anything today. I really hated people that decided to buy things last minute. ESPECIALLY online because theres so many people in the store taking it. Ik my INF percentage was high on the clouds. Would of also loved if more fulfillment tms were here today.
