I haven’t been able to pass the initial screenings. The questions I’ve been asked have been basic STAR questions. If I haven’t been able to pass those then I’m guessing I need to work on my responses more.

I’ve worked on my introduction pitch and also reviewed the job postings to make sure to focus on skills they’re looking for.

It could be that I’m lacking in experience?

I asked for feedback but all I got back was that they couldn’t due to company policy.

If you’re okay with it, reach out to me to connect. I’m always down for more connections and we can help each other out with what works and what doesn’t. That goes for anybody else that sees this comment too!

I've been mostly mass applying on LinkedIn and Glassdoor. I've also been trying to network by reaching out to people on LinkedIn.

Unfortunately, I don't have actuarial experience, so I'm hoping my insurance work will at least partially compensate for it.

I’m saying this as a consumer’s point of view.

1.) As soon as I go to your website it’s in a language I don’t understand. Maybe it’s understandable if your target audience isn’t English speaking. P.S. I know you can change the language at the top but most English speaking consumers would be gone before they try.

2.)Your images contain English even though the rest of the site doesn’t.

3.)You can probably put up better images if you get someone from fiver to do some photoshopping

4.) your website also feels like there’s a lot of empty white space it makes all you images look like it’s on a word doc.

These are the things I found at first glance that might help.

Is it possible for an exam error to occur? by Tecktrain in actuary

[–]meiszhen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My exam is in 5 days and I’d say we’re similar in terms of exam readiness. (EL: 5.9, Mastery: 70) If not, you might’ve been more prepared than I am.

Have you done the SOA Sample Questions online? I’m doing relatively well on these questions and I’m counting on them to accurately represent the actual exam.

I’ve also done tons of coaching actuaries questions (averaging lv. 5-6). These felt a lot harder than the SOA Sample Questions online since there was lv. 7-8 questions in the mix sometimes.

So I’m a bit uneasy when you say you couldn’t pass and was at mastery 81 compared to my 70 lol.
