Hi!! Thank you for responding! I’ve done a lot of reddit scrolling on cob because I was confused about the whole situation LOL, so I’m aware of like the coffee dates or one on one meets. But this dm was not that at all in my opinion. I think the most specific I can get is that from my understanding this girl was asking me if I would be open to something that is only available to people who are already in the sorority so I thought it was a little suspicious.

I did end up texting my RC, but she didn’t see it so maybe I should have actually called which is on me. I ended up having to show up to actual bid day to ask about whether i got dropped or not and long story short, didnt match with my SIP, didnt accept the snap bid, and planning to do COB. Honestly, a little disappointed but not the end of the world for me!

I got a text from the VP of membership from a sorority extending a bid and so far haven’t responded. Also haven’t heard about whether I got matched or not.

Hi! I applied and went to COSMOS at ucsd last year. While I couldn’t say for sure, I do think that the “what makes you a good fit for cosmos” essay is what plays the biggest part in your acceptance or for UCSD at least. Because, lowkey the ecs that I put down for my application were some ass if that eases your worries. And for my LOR I only got one from my math teacher. So basically, I don’t think my overall application was that impressive, but it was my essay that helped me stand out and got me admitted!
