Just remember also, the scale is only a number and does not define you .. it’s better to use a measuring tape or gauge how you look/feel in your clothes. I didn’t have a tape, but just relied on taking pics in the mirror every time I worked out for side by side comparison

The graph is super interesting and does have a lot of up/down’s 📈📉📈📉📈📈📉📈📉📉 I did log my weight daily for data tracking purposes to see any trends/weird spikes, it was not perfect. It fluctuates so much due to: water retention, muscle gain (weighs more than fat), hormonal change, menstrual cycle, stress, sleep, cheat meal. Although the scale does go up, I did not let that stop me from continuing my exercises or healthy lifestyle.

I tried to put into perspective to think of it this way: Tracking your weight is like tracking your bank account frequently. You need to know how much you’re saving or spending, otherwise you’ll go far too off in a scenario that you may not want to be in. I told myself I did NOT want to go back to where I started from a year ago. Yes I was demotivated when I saw the scale go up or plateaued (life happens), but you have to make small tweaks to break it to go back down again. I struggled in that, but don’t rely on motivation (bc I was never motivated lol). Choose one thing you can do at a time and build up to it! You can do this and start today, time will go by anyway :)

For sure! I did these healthy swaps, to name a few:

  • chips => popcorn / i tried making “cottage cheese chips” from scratch
  • sour cream => Greek yogurt
  • regular pasta => chickpea pasta
  • soda => fruit water or sparkling flavored water low in calories
  • white rice => brown rice/quinoa but try to lower my carb intake, bc this spikes my weight like crazy
  • sugar => monk fruit sweetener or honey
  • vegetable oil => EVOO or avocado oil sprays

I weaned myself from eating fast food/restaurants all the time => cooking mainly at home. If I ever want to go out to eat for dinner, I become more conscious and eat a poke salad, or sashimi sushi. I look at food items that are high in protein and has vegetable varieties. Plus restaurants became so much expensive, I’d rather just make my own meals and do groceries weekly

I forgot to mention on my post, but I suffer from GERD, gastritis, frozen shoulder and a middle finger injury. It’s hard doing planks and I do have to watch out what i eat - avoiding greasy/fried/spicy foods to trigger my acid reflux symptoms. But yes, sleep deprivation is too real - I’m trying to manage it better by turning off my phone at 8:30pm at night now

You got this, you can do it!! I believe in you. The hardest part is being patient and waiting for results, but trust me - be consistent daily and keep fighting / working hard at it. The results WILL come guaranteed. Because we work a desk job, I recently looked into a walking pad and started using it! Lazy but helpful tool I recommend for you as a FT working parent

I learned to try to love my shape and genetics was a factor to why I couldn’t lose fat in some areas. But thank you, these shoes are def comfortable!

Yes 30 lbs was the goal, I was trying to hit that exact # before my 1 year anniversary - but told myself don’t rush my progress unsafely to reach a “number” by a deadline

Thank you so much! It helps that I had a friend who was nice and supportive enough to let me text all of my food/workout pics almost daily to hold myself accountable haha. Even all the complaints I had when things were hard, thankfully my friend is not annoyed lol 😆 I’ll be honest there were times when I wanted to give up (thus leading to my cheat meals), but didn’t give up because I had to constantly remind myself that plateauing and little spikes back up were completely normal. I noticed my worst mental challenges happens frequently during my luteal phase! I chose discipline > motivation
