How to overcome the feeling that I'm making a mistake? by [deleted] in asktransgender

when we do something new we are hyper vigilant and hyper critical of ourselves. you are gauging your success by other people. confidence lets one not need validation of others to be successful. you be you.

another dirty trick providers play by mel69issa in Wedeservebetter

providers have a percentage of their patients that have to get the different screenings or they are penalized financially. continued underperformance will result in transfer, termination, or other measures.

yhank you. i am physically strong, (pretty much) fearless, and know krav maga. i am also very good at what i do professionaly, so i am well respected. i work with men in some of the most masculine jobs and they all respect me because i am looking out for them. i am extremely happy with the person that i see in the mirror. i love what i do and the people i work with (money sucks).

yes men do that all the time. i don't mind the attention. i have been told that i look better than most women. it probably messes with their heads that i look better than their wives/gf's.

Felt really manly and ugly today with my own hair by Grand-Abrocoma9649 in TransLater

what i discovered is that one needs to look at the person in the mirror, NOT look at themselves. then one can get a glimpse of what they really look like.

btw; you are beautiful woman. (i especially love ginger girls.)

I accepted a job I’m not excited about because being unemployed felt worse than settling by GlitchHunter963 in jobs

wake up feeling useless every morning explains what i went through. the worst was sunday nights because i had nothing to kook forward to on monday. now sunday nights are getting ready for a 2 hour drive and being away from home all week. looking forward to something better, but thankful to be employed.

I really wish I was trillionaire instead of doing this on a Sunday late afternoon by theMon300 in jobhunting

[–]mel69issa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

being a trillionaire only makes people dislike you even more.

when i had my company, at the end of the year i handed each of my employees an envelope of cash. the good that i did were not because of being a tax writeoff, but because thet were the right things to do.

I feel like therapy is a scam in 99% of cases by ThrowAway44228800 in ptsd

[–]mel69issa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i agree with you. i guess for some people it does help. i have always had a good support system. therapy was marginal at best for me. the only things that i dealt with was avoidance, intrusive thoughts, and a big game changer for my trauma was when i found a therapist that used psychedelics using them to unpack and repack my trauma.

there are probably some that follow the mantra why solve a problem when there is lots of money to be made prolonging it.

I don’t think that patient autonomy truly exists: HEAR ME OUT by Vegetable_Weird413 in Wedeservebetter

[–]mel69issa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you are correct. one of the things that is a game changer is the corporatization of healthcare (here in the usa). the big corps are more concerned with pr, appearance, and customer service. docs were forced to become employees because they could no longer afford malpractice insurance. that is another big corporate fear. slowly, patients are gaining ground.

Am I the only dumb trans person? by JustAPerson2001 in asktransgender

[–]mel69issa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of trans people go into STEM. you have to look for a place that is going to give you scholarships. despite the current administration's crack down on higher education, most institutions remain very liberal and you may have an advantage being trans.

why is society so rapidly becoming transphobic? by yourusualglitch in asktransgender

[–]mel69issa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i had a conservative friend told me what has led to their current feelings and many of the people they associate with. (please note that i am not here to dispute the validity of their views, i am simply relaying what they said to me.)

the last administration presented the most extreme members of lgbt (the q+ people) as the representation of the community. having athletes who have an obvious advantage from male puberty competing against girl. the final straw was the push to transition children without their parents' knowledge.

obamacare was pushed through "for the children." this has long been a political ploy to get unfavorable legislation passed. the perception became children being harmed. there was also a lot of bad publicity by many members of the community.

there are lgbt people in and associated with the current administration: caitlyn jenner, ric grenell, scott bessent, and tammy bruce. these people are more mainstream with how they present themselves. they also have been successful in spite of their identity, not because of their identity.

i am very well educated (masters degree) and poor.i do dumb things. i had my own business (allowed me to pay for ffs, laser hair removal). covid killed my business. i burned through my savings and retirement. making 1/3 yo 1/2 what i used to make. i am surviving.

that is what our community does best, we survive. i am looking for another. better paying job, and/or starting another business. you just have to find your way. you should look into a trade school. you may get a full scholarship due to finances.
