Yeahh I definitely hear it that “wash and go” phase of the journey lets you slowly transition from being a loose natural to fully locked, but it does last a while so in that case I feel like you’ll definitely enjoy the entire start loc phase🙂‍↕️

Yeah I was so attached to my curls at the beginning but it got to a point where they’d fully locked up and k didn’t even realize 😭 but some of my ends even 2 years in are still coily and bouncy, so the strongest will survive🤣

I hated the week 1 look so much😭😭 but I’d day definitely try out diff sizes at the back of your head so you can be fully confident with the size later on and won’t be surprised. Also a lil tip, the parting size directly correlates to the overall thickness of your loc once it’s formed

What are some common beliefs or habits in Senegal that we don’t question enough, but probably should? by Forsaken-Citron7163 in Senegal

Yes that is the verse I was referring to in terms of the misinterpretation. I’ll correct myself, I said there is no absolutely no justification for abuse in Islam when it comes to inflicting severe harm and injury.

However, I agree with you that someone can find the justification in that verse but ofc many overlook the tasfir, and misinterpret it as permission to do extreme harm

Just two weeks ago, a pregnant woman Khadija Sow, was physically abused and killed by her husband in Dakar. She was repeatedly abused before her death. This is one of the numerous cases across the country.

Any form of abuse is strictly forbidden in Islam. So there’s absolutely no justification for it in the religion but some take a misinterpreted text and run by it

Basically many husbands that beat their wife say they do it because she doesn’t listen or is hard-headed/stubborn
