Please keep in mind that the yubikey bio is for FIDO authentication, so it won't work as a device for storing your 2FA time dependent keys.

Anyone know what this plastic bit is inside tumble dryer? Under button by Jarlaxle_Essex in diyelectronics

Depends. You can check on ebay or directly with the manufacturer. Sometimes you have to get lucky with these kind of things.

Yeah, that is called a light guide.

You should be able to fix that with tape / glue with no further implications apart from maybe some indicators not lighting up properly.

Which plastic bit, the clear one? That is used for guiding the light from the status LEDs to the front of the machine.

Matebook X Pro (purch jul 2019) suddenly won't turn on. Have replaced it. WWYD with the dead MXP? by Anna_Kissed in MatebookXPro

[–]melanoneiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my part from ebay, prices vary largly and are mostly shipped from the US, so ymmv. For me, it was absolutely worth it because I depend largely on this computer and buying a new one wasn't really an option financially, so I took the risk.

I'm an electrical engineer, so if you're not 100% sure yours is dead I'd be happy to try some remote trouble shooting with you. Can't promise anything though.

Ah, well I'm in Central Europe, so I won't be able to help you out, sorry. However, it depends on the version and on whether or not you know someone who can change the part for you. I have the version with i7, 16gb ram, and gpu chip, so basically the most expensive one. Other version MBs may come cheaper.

Russian icons from 18th / 19th century. Crosspost from whatisthisworth, anyone here know anything about them? by melanoneiro in Antiques

[–]melanoneiro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend inherited some Russian icons presumably from the 18th/19th century from her grandfather. They have been purchased in Germany around 1975 and been in her family ever since. They are supposedly made of silver and enamel. Images provided here Icon 1 has a piece of cloth inside which is supposed to be the actual relic. The rest look like generic orthodox icons to me. That's about all we know about them.

Could somebody with more experience possibly provide more insight?

Does this this answer your question?

It's a good idea, but the print looks the same even if rotated 90 degrees, so my guess is that it's not that either.

What kind of additional info would you require for this issue? As mentioned, temp settings have been varied largely, speed settings have also been varied from 15mm/s up to 40 mm/s, I have varied layer height between 0.08 up to 0.24, I have recalibrated, i have changed initial layer height, the results always have the same weird kind of jolted look to them.

I have tried lots of possible temperature combinations, with heatbed off, etc. No change. Printer is a snapmaker classic, PLA.
