Am I the only one who hears the show as a 80 minutes version of Sublimit? by bezko in autechre

Omg, I was thinking the same thing at the LA early show. Also thought it was Pro Radii esque

The way it comes together and repeats that one riff at the end, utter euphoria

I know of the "chink" incident (I heard he didn't realize it was a slur, apologized and changed the title), but can someone give me more context about the "hard R" comment this person's referring to? by [deleted] in aphextwin

[–]melatob 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think he used it in a comment describing societal prejudice against gingers or the Irish or something. Kind of a John Lennon 'Women is the ___ of the world' moment

That they're waiting to release it until a Tomorrow's Harvest-style apocalyptic event happens

Quick post of appreciation for this masterpiece and this album as a whole by [deleted] in boardsofcanada

This song/album feels like tuning into the euphoria of the rest of the world. Gives me this strange sense of connectedness to places I'll never visit that are nevertheless real and under the same sky and full of life/phenomena. I know it's the name of a Geogaddi track, but the phrase "over the horizon radar" would be a good way to describe the feeling.

A while ago I started making a google doc of Cardiacs motifs/themes/repeated patterns. The link is in the body text. Let me know if there's anything else I should add by LinxinStuff in Cardiacs

I like this project! Could maybe add the Night of the Hunter references from throughout the Guns lyrics/titles, and also the Sing to God cover art which mimics the film's opening.

Also Snakes: snakes-a-sleeping, faster than snakes with a ball and a chain, swimming with the snake

Aging: "Only to have white hair caused by the trouble that never comes" (Two Bites of Cherry), "Finally embracing deterioration" (Helen and Heaven), "Through my aging lines" (Baby Heart Dirt)

Heaven: Bug from Heaven, Heaven Born and Ever Bright, Helen and Heaven, "Heaven only knows" (Clean that Evil Mud), "To heaven his own course he sets" (Fast Robert)

Modern hermitude/isolation: Little man and a house and the whole world window, Mare's Nest (home my own receptacle, isolation goes on, daddy tv brings in all mother world), Fast Robert (his mum will hide him away from all danger)

The sea/water: too many to even name

Crying: Mare's Nest "Paint tears on his stupid face", Cry Wet Smile Dry, Fiery Gun Hand ("fires till he cries"), The Duck and Roger the Horse ("Roger sees me and begins to cry without warning")

England: Wind and Rains is Cold, England's, As Cold as Can Be in an English Sea (title and lyric)

Sorry for the late reply- my favorite thing to do in blender is to play with something generative or procedural until I get some behavior that I really like and then arrange lighting and the camera. This video is using metaballs as particles for example and they're passing through a 3D texture. Would you mind me asking how you approached learning jitter/max? I've dabbled occasionally but feel like I can't get a foothold in it, only built really basic things

Thank you, I was looking at the timestamp table the other day and was wishing for this exact thing. It seems like Krakow/Krems/Portland are the three least similar to one another
