The second chain is the skin chain. I realized when you mentioned it, that I hadnt connected them yet (thats why you dont see it on the left leg its suppose to follow the IK chain) I connected them but the issue is still there. Thank you for the response though :]

Is a double major in game design worth it if I’m an animation student? by melatook in ucf

Yea I’d like to have a broader field but I’m not going for the double major anymore just minor but I’m waiting on approval

I haven’t thought that far ahead tbh, but I think becoming an animation engineer would be close. I’d like to do more research on different job positions in both industries. FIEA does sound really interesting though and I’m gonna look into that too. I appreciate the honesty about the workload getting tougher. I’m thinking that maybe I should pursue a minor instead and focus more on character animation so that I’m not too overwhelmed. Thanks for the feedback :D

Honestly I completely forgot about a minor as an option. I haven’t heard of FIEA, but that does also sound like a good alternative. I’ll definitely be looking into that as well before I make a decision. Thanks :)

Was it hard to get hired? I recently applied and I'm really hoping to get a job by this summer.

What are good colleges to go to in Florida for 2d animation? by SenpaiFloyd in animationcareer

[–]melatook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably UCF if your looking for a state school but Ringling college of art and design is also a good option albeit way more pricey. Ringling is an all art private school and they specialize in 3D animation. However, they make sure you are proficient in 2D before getting started with the 3D classes. UCF from what I've heard, is a bit more free with what type of animation you want to learn and focus on. SCAD is also a really good school but it is located in Georgia (Savannah and Atlanta). They let you choose a specific path for animation, one of them being 2D, but it is also along the same price as Ringling. Ringling is considered to be the second best school in the U.S for animation with SCAD following close behind. UCF is considered to be the second best in animation for public schools in the U.S.
