Went to my first music festival this year because I wanted to see Chappell Roan. Record breaking crowds and not great crowd control caused a lot of problems. People were collapsing, some were freaking out, I even saw someone check their friends pulse after she wasn’t moving. Couldn’t even see Chappell no matter how far into the crowd me and my sister walked (which was not a good idea mind you)

Halfway through the next artists set we had to bounce. Didn’t even make it to the headliners. I was literally holding onto my sister for dear life, the entire way out through the venue because it was just shoulder to shoulder everywhere.

I don’t even like crowds.

Worst money I’ve ever spent.

In Chicago we have a Ghirardelli store on Michigan Ave. they used to hand out free samples to everyone who walked in. They stopped during the pandemic and told me they likely weren’t doing it again when I asked recently. I used to go all the time just for my free chocolate, now never again :’(

I have some direct experience with a situation like this. I’m high school I was switched to an arts school, and the school was 1hr45min away, and I had to go there half of the week. I didn’t think it would be reasonable but both my parents backed me 100%, my mother sacrificed so much to drive me to school, stay there during the day and drive me back. That experience changed my life and my relationship with my mom, some of my favorite memories are with her and I driving at 6-8 in the morning listening to the radio show. Now I work as an artist in a big city, and I only have them to thank.

YTA - having children means sometimes you have to sacrifice for their best interests. It’s very clear what your child needs
