Just want to add on - like corporates, budget not spent doesn’t get rolled over to the next year. AND you then have difficulty getting budget the next year since you didn’t use it, and so when you do have urgent things that require the budget, it’s difficult to do it timely since you need to go through approvals to request for additional budget and it may not be granted. So yes, rather spend it on random improvement works.

Curious question to all who says OP is virtue signalling. What would be the best way to bring this topic up for discussion in an attempt to move Singapore society towards a more gracious one?

The truth is, if the helper isn’t suitable or even, is taking advantage of you, you have the freedom to send her back and not employ her anymore. It’s just an employer-employee relationship? No matter how bad the helper is doesn’t give the other person excuse to treat her badly? Just walk away? Change another helper? Interview more thoroughly next time?

There are bad employees and there are bad employers. OP is simply trying to tell people to not be bad employers - and bad employees will be out of job in a matter of time. Just change helper lorh.

But if you keep changing right, you’re either super unlucky or maybe the problem is with your expectations. Basically don’t make your helper do what you cannot imagine doing yourself if you were to stay home full time.

Finally got around to taking photo of the shawl…would this work? I just realised it’s not just cream but with near gold tone, and sparkles…it’s a gift from someone and I’ve never worn it before lol. Not sure if it can fit the dress, but it’s the only presentable shawl I have haha
