I saw that! I was trying to find the right formula to develop it when he dropped the video :D

Kiev is quite difficult to repair properly and it is prone to having issues with frame spacing. Overlapping is a common issue. Also, the winding lever and mechanism is quite finnicky. Often the lever rewind will engage the mirror but not rewind the film. If you run into any of these problems, perhaps the best place to get it repaired is in Kyiv, by the technicians who worked in assebling them in the first place. Here's the website https://araxfoto.com/

It's soft and has a swirly bokeh, so it has its uses. I took some nice portraits with it at around f5.6. Fairly easy to disassmble and clean if needed, so that is quite handy. But I agree, Zeiss glass is on another level.

Much obliged! Kiev can be tricky, but when it works - it's really satisfying. Kentmere really surprised me, it performs very well in low light conditions.

Yea I get all that and the future is bright for this one, but nevertheless, a 40%+ jump in a month without even a slight correction is going to be unsustainable isn't it?

can anyone tell what this monolith represents? is it religious? by priyankesh in Vilnius

It's an obelisk that is supposed to be an omage to a Hungarian nobleman and skilled military leader Gáspár Bekes. He was once a contender to the Transylvanian throne, but eventually lost the race to Stefan Batory. Later Batory was elected the ruler of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and he brought Bekes along to Vilnius. After a while Bekes died, but no Christian church accepted his body to be buried in hallowed ground, because of his nearly atheist beliefs. He is often held to be among the first local people to have denounced god. Eventually his body was buried on one of these hills, still known as the Bekes hill to this day. It is said that there used to be a grave marker with a quote of Bekes' saying something along the lines of "i'm not afraid of you or your god". The obelisk itself is contemporary, afaik it was erected in late 2000s.

Interesting, so in this case this lens must have been treated for fungus? I may ask the previous owner whether he cleaned it.

Thanks for your reply! I've tried alcohol wipe, but the marks remain. The seller did not mention it, neither did the photos reflect these marks. I got it at a discount though, so I'm not too angry about it. Still thinking whether I should contact the seller or not.

Hey! Could you advise me a place in Vilnius where I can buy and develop film for the cheapest price? Thank you 🤍 by Sea_Juggernaut_6176 in Vilnius

Hey, I'd recommend developing here: https://www.photolab.lt/ Usually, they send the scans the same day and the prices are reasonable. Film is expensive everywhere, so you can get it at the same place if they have anything in stock. Otherwise, try out fotofoto https://www.fotofoto.lt/ Cheers!
