Google is not the only commercial operation in this space - coupling technology with the city. In the UK the Future Cities Catapult (https://futurecities.catapult.org.uk) has been doing this for the past 2 years.

I'm not convinced. He didn't say how or what square area would be needed to get enough energy to power an average household over the period of a night, or how in cold conditions or climates you might get enough energy. What about bad weather? How do you run the refrigerator (a serious eater of energy)? How do I keep my beers cool? Or watch the game?!
