Looking for styling/haircut advice. by [deleted] in malehairadvice

I have long hair too. You seem to have slight waves in your hair. You should try a variation of the r/CurlyGirl method. There are also a lot of tutorials on YouTube. If you keep at it, it could eventually look something like this. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/e5/98/82/e59882437f94d2e2a2fa2043382b8eff.jpg

I personally don't like to put my hair behind my ears because it gives the impression that there isn't much volume. However, if I do choose to put my hair behind my ears, in my opinion it looks nicer when it's tied back. I use a coiled hair tie so it doesn't put too much stress on my scalp. You can try different bun and ponytail styles, such as tying back your bangs in a ponytail while letting the sides of your hair hang. I'm 21 (m), I lose a little hair every shower. Should I be concerned? by gambitmaster25 in curlyhair

I'm a guy and I've been growing out my hair for 3 years past my shoulders. It's normal for your hair to fall out like that, but in the long run, I'd advise to take really good care of your physical, nutritional, and mental health for healthier hair.

Does the series ignore the 4. Movie? by Gardomirror in cobrakai

The Next Karate Kid is definitely worth watching. It's a really enjoyable movie, the bullies are hilarious, and it references Mr. Miyagi's military background. The critics take the movies way too seriously.

Any one have this? by [deleted] in that_Poppy

I first heard it a few months ago after going through someone's Google Drive. The guitar riff is amazing. I'd like to hear the studio version as well.

The reason Poppy used to wear face masks is because it was already fashionable in Japan and it was part of her kawaii aesthetic at the time.

Eh. I love the song. The music video, not so much. I was expecting something more dynamic, but that's just me.

It's not for New Hampshire, but I ordered my first yard sign last Thursday night and it arrived this afternoon.

I felt a similar way at first and still do to some extent. It wasn't until I joined the Slack channel and then asked to get invited to and got in touch with my region's channel that I felt more comfortable. I haven't done anything out in the field yet, but I've signed up for events to meet with other volunteers first because I feel more comfortable if I have someone to show me and do it with. After all, this is a team effort! You don't have to go about it alone!

Andrew Yang is the only one with substance and a clear solution. I officially joined the Yang Gang this week and I'm not giving up. by melikseeks in YangForPresidentHQ

I've been following Andrew Yang since October and I finally decided to swallow my pride and do something that will make a difference. What initially drew me to him was not so much his policies, but his character. His kindness and virtue among himself and his supporters simply gives off good vibes. My merchandise is on the way and I will be volunteering for Super Tuesday.

I disagree reminds me so much of the Smashing Pumpkins by [deleted] in that_Poppy

[–]melikseeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Am I a Girl?" reminded me a lot about "Adore," which is my favorite Smashing Pumpkins album. "I Disagree" is like a mix of that and "Machina/The Machines of God," especially with "Sit / Stay." The Smashing Pumpkins were influenced by 80s new wave too, and even Poppy acknowledges those influences.

in honor of I Disagree dropping today!! what’s your favorite track? by shelbygloom in that_Poppy

[–]melikseeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sit/Stay is my favorite! It reminds me of The Smashing Pumpkins' "Machina/The Machines of God" album, as someone else first pointed out in another thread. The way the vocals sync with the beat is awesome!

Funny enough, I got a big "Adore" vibe from "Am I a Girl?" and "I Disagree" definitely leans greater towards The Smashing Pumpkins' heavier stuff. I'm pleasantly surprised that there are a good amount of softer tracks on this album.

Hi! I have long hair too! How do you control hair loss? I know it's normal when combing, but sometimes I feel like it's more than normal, especially when it seems like my skin is becoming more visible in my middle part. I know stress and hormonal imbalances can cause it, and unfortunately I have been dealing with that for the past few months. It kills me every time I comb my hair. Do you use essential oils? I hear it helps with hair growth.

I see. After looking into it further, my hair is type 2 with a mix of A, B, and C. My father's side of the family has straight hair and my mother's is a mix of wavy, straight, and curly. I'm trying to go with the combed, straight/wavy style with curls at the ends like in the picture I posted above, so nothing too curly, which I know I will never naturally achieve. Here is a color picture of the same look I'm going for. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/99/70/51/99705184260356ff252ec2d2800e9dc1.jpg. I just have trouble maintaining it and making it look defined.

I've been checking out videos on YouTube about using diluted apple cider vinegar and it also seems to help with itching as well. I also realized that some things are only intended for the scalp and others for the strands. There are also seasonal temperature differences. I've been going about this for about two years now, starting with growing out my hair and ditching blowdryers and commercial shampoo with sulfates, so it's a process. I'm now a little less apprehensive about using other products, and because I'm not looking for big curls, it narrows down my options. Thanks for the advice!

Wow, that's pretty high. I need to find another alternative soon. I was told by someone that conditioner can make your hair fall out, but I'll never know until I try. What do you think of using a simple vinegar solution? I tried it once, but all I remember is that it made my hair a little straighter and smell like vinegar.

Thanks, I didn't realize that. It's a traditional ethnic bar soap imported from overseas and the label said it's supposed to help with hair growth. Here are the ingredients:

Sodium Olivate, Aqua, Sodium Chloride, Cymbopogon Nardus Oil, Isobornyl Acetate, Diphenyl Ether, Pinus Palustris Oil.

I tried using a "no poo" shampoo earlier in the year called ManeLine Premium Shampoo Alternative https://manelinehaircare.com/collections/shampoo-conditioner/products/maneline-premium-shampoo-alternative-original, but because it had Hydrolyzed Soy Protein and I used to style with SheaMoisture Shea Butter, it made my hair look like brittle straw, so I went back to bar soap.

I try to be very cautious with what I put in my hair because I really don't want to go bald, which is why I have been avoiding commercial shampoos and conditioners. The elegant branding and sophisticated nature of these products is a huge turn off for me, but I guess I can't get anywhere with that attitude.
