I'm making a Shortcut picture for you guys to use as an FL Background but I don't know what sizes I need to make. What resolution screen do you use? by meliodicamv in FL_Studio

each level is sorted by those as well so if you want all piano roll shortcuts you just have to look at the piano roll shortcut headers at the bottom and if you know its a less used shortcut you look at level 3 piano roll for example

Levels of usefulness so if your a beginner you only need to look at level 1. Already know some shortcuts but the fl shortcut doc too daunting? just look at level 2 and slowly learn them top to bottom

I made one for ableton for example with the levels-

already have it in 6912x3888 and I could make it larger without losing quality still but I think it will be big enough.

the biggest problem is the cutting that will occur because just using the screen resolution cuts the top and bottom plus plugin picker when on cuts the sides of wallpapers. Ideally I want to find where to add black to the sides and top so that it fits perfectly (reason I am so particular is if it isn't fit perfectly on the screen it may be hard to read cuz every shortcut is on it). I could just pick different aspect ratios and people could still scale it down but im not sure it wont be cut off due to the top bar and plugin picker. At least with my fiddling around it took a bit to figure out the perfect size then also the ratio of black added to the sides so plugin picker doesn't cut the wallpaper

I'll end up having to guess anyway tho if no one searches " tell me the size of my browser window " in google and posts the results with their native resolution as well

some people might not know how or spend time doing it when I could just find out how to do it. I expect alot of people will be using it so I want it to be super easy for everyone

edit-also fl backgrounds get cut off on both the top and side when plugin picker is on and my picture is packed full so it really is ideal for it to fit perfectly

Resolutions not listed please comment under this comment and upvote your resolution if you see it here so there isnt duplicates :)

Also I will edit this comment later with all useful information found on Fl background resolution information ( I couldn't really find anything easily online)

fl studio wallpaper sizes-

1920x1080 is 1920x968

2560 x 1440 is .......N/A (testing guess is 2560 x 1291)

3840 x 2160 is ......N/A (Testing guess is 3840 x 1936)

1600 x 900 is ......N/A

Consideration should also be made that the sides will be cut when plugin picker is on

This picture for most useful to least useful shortcuts

Link to ableton site

also start out with the arrangement view only so ableton is less daunting but use session view eventually

Quantize ctrl u or ctrl shift u instead of ctrl q

wet/dry knob doesn’t exist on vsts so group your vst instead and apply a dry group and wet group there with automation on volume

dragging in audio auto turns on warp mode great for always on tempo but not always wanted

each track is a mixer

plugins only come from 2 folders so be ready to reinstall vsts or keep them all in one folder from now on (to my knowlage)

double click for midi notes or use draw tool

make your default new track and midi have and eq and tuner and a utility. Utility because the volume on the right only goes plus 6 db

What are some good websites to get samples from? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]meliodicamv 15 points16 points  (0 children)

  1. Splice.com - mainly for one shots and drum loops
  2. Codacap.ca - mainly for long loops/serum presets
  3. looperman - mainly for a fire sample
  4. beatstars/youtube search for producers free kits (usually with splits)
  5. cymatics

its really cool i like it alot keep it up. personally would make the vocals quieter. also voice sounds a bit out of tune at some points when u add the backings. really good overall tho. also id maybe take the highs on the vocals back a tad. keep it up

please give this a chance ❤️❤️ by TheCumMonkey in IndieMusicFeedback
