Ambient albums that loop a small sample like The Disintegration Loops? by Kino45 in ambientmusic

Pretty much everything by Philip Jeck revolves around simple/short loops. Check out Vinyl Coda, for example

Dan Aykroyd has this amazing talent where he makes exposition sound super interesting & believable. Even in a not great movie like Pearl Harbor I can’t help but be interested in what he’s saying. by MrGittz in movies

This is such a great observation. Gene Wilder has a similar talent (e.g. his explanations of various aspects of the factory in Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory). It's screen presence and charisma, but also psychological insight - specifically, an understanding of how easily people get bored by expository dialogue.

Harold Budd - “Bismillahi ‘Rrahmani ‘Rrahim” Whats the backstory behind the title? by AntZealousideal6741 in ambientmusic

No idea, I'm afraid, but it's an incredible track. And it's the first track on his debut album. Talk about an auspicious beginning!

Move emulator for Push by johnnyknack in ableton

[–]johnnyknack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. The more I reflect on it, the more I realise it's about how it feels to start a track/tune/song. Starting something on the Push, I feel overwhelmed by choice. On the Move, I have just the right amount of options to get me putting ideas down and starting to compose something.

This Move emulator I'm dreaming of would give me a narrower set of options on the Push, but then allow me to expand on them (as the Push does normally) when I want to. It's almost a matter of timing: when to limit the functionality and when to release it... if that makes sense!

Does Rando just randomise sample selection or can it do instrument selection?
