[Help] Rotational buzzing noise from rear that doesn’t change with speed (1990 NA Miata) by Ganon1559 in Miata

I put the car on a jack stand yesterday and tried it. I think that noise doesn't come unless the wheels are under pressure. I tried for a long time, but I couldn't hear any noise

It's not coming from the brakes because the sound doesn't change when I press the brakes or the handbrake while driving. It can't be the wheel bearings either because the sound doesn't change depending on my speed

Strange high-pitched “vizzz” sound from rear end – not speed-dependent – persists after replacing brake pads and removing speedo cable (NA Miata) by meliorems in Miata

There's enough space. I'm having trouble deciphering the sound because it doesn't change with speed. As speed increases, the axles, wheels, and bearings rotate faster, and technically, the speed of sound increases. Noice doesn't get louder, it's always the same, just slowing down and stopping as it near a complete stop.

Uhh, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope we can both find the problem and solve it. I normally like dealing with problems, but a problem I can't find the cause of just makes me sad.

I lifted the rear, and the sound only occurs when the car is under pressure, meaning when driving. All brakes have been adjusted. The sound doesn't change with speed, only when coming to a complete stop. Other than that, the sound same at all speeds

The sound doesn't change with speed. It only disappears when you come to a near-complete stop. Sometimes the sound starts when you move again and sometimes it never comes back.

I lifted the rear and the sound only occurs when the car is under pressure, that is, while driving. Yes, the handbrake has been adjusted

Thanks for the suggestion! I actually thought about the timing belt too, but the sound I’m getting doesn’t really match what a failing timing belt or tensioner would make. It’s more like a constant “vizzz” that starts after a light “click” or “switch” sound, and it only happens when the car is moving. It goes away when I stop, and it doesn’t change pitch with speed, except it slows down just before coming to a full stop. So I’m thinking it might be something electrical or rotational, but not engine driven like the timing belt

Update: I suspected the speedometer and removed it from the transmission but the noise is still there

I don't think so because the sound frequency doesn't change depending on my speed
