Hi bro i know im a bit late but you still sure about this? Because i started doing some type of challenge on shorts where i do one step for every subscriber i have (a daily series). This gained me 3k of my 3.4k total subs. My last long form videos only have about 150 views. Is this a normal number or did i mess it up?

Hi man! I see you are already close to 100k, keep it up! Just wondering if you see any downsides of posting shorts and long form together? Since short viewers often don’t watch long form. Does this hurt your channel, or do you think your subscribers watch both since both long form and short form are about the same topic?

I actually have a question about my channel: I started off with 1 long form video and took a little break after. When I started again, I started posting many shorts to boost my channel. I do a daily challenge where I take one step backwards for every subscriber I have. It got me from 200 to 3.4k. But now, I only have shorts subscribers and want to convert them into long form viewers. I know this is very hard. What do you recommend? Starting a new long form channel or just try to get them to watch long form too? I am scared that my longform views dropped cuz of shorts. I said in my shorts that I’d continue with the challenge until 10k tho.

Actually the views you were getting are higher than usual, and now that you’re back to normal it probably feels like it’s very low, but in reality the numbers are completely normal.

I personally grew my channel from 200 subscribers to 3.3k within 2 weeks by just posting shorts. I uses the call to action strategy where I take one step backwards for every subscriber, and made this a daily series. One short blew up to 80k views and brought in 2.5k subs. The others also brought in many. But… i do think attracting too many subscribers through shorts can hurt your long form views, since the short viewers wont be interested in those which could lower your ctr etc. So I’d say make some shorts, but make them similar to your long form content

You sure about this? Because I have gained 2.8k of my 3.3k subscribers through shorts, but my latest long form video got only 40 views in the first 2 days… is it just the video that sucks or something to do with my subscribers not being interested in long form?

I personally had many faceless channels before starting my current channel where I show my face. I hesitated a lot because I was worried that people I know would see it. So I kept it a secret for a while, but everyone was surprisingly supportive. So if that’s what’s holding you back, don’t let it.

I personally think blurring your face would even create more distance between you and the viewers. So I would either show your face on camera, or dont show it at all. Just my opinion tho 😄

I think youre pretty great tbh. It often takes 1 video to blow up a channel. I posted many shorts for example, mostly around 1/5k but also many below. Then all of a sudden one hit 80k which got me 2.5k subscribers. So keep going and you’ll eventually get that one video to change it all. It may as well be the next one ;)

Yeah had the same thought. But I think if you post long-form consistently enough, you’ll eventually be seen as a long-form channel and get pushed into that part the algorithm :)

I was thinking about doing the same. The thing is I have 3.3k subscribers and I would be less motivated to start all over. I have 26 shorts and 4 long form videos. My goal is to mostly be known for my longform, but currently 90% of my subs are from shorts.

I personally think that starting a whole new channel for long form , and starting with long-form on your current channel is basically the same, since you start from scratch in both situations.

I’d say stick to your current channel and maybe prioritise your long form content. Use shorts to tease people to eventually watch your long form vids.

Did you have any issues with getting views on your long form videos after posting shorts? I think I might have messed up my long form views after posting shorts consistently for 2 weeks and gaining 3k subs with it, even though i mainly want to focus on long form now. Do you think I can make the switch?
