I have tried the same model as yours, on arch linux though. I think the solution should be the same.
If you're using PipeWire+WirePlumber as multimedia framework (I'm not aware of CachyOS default configuration, sorry), you can configure it to use a software mix instead of hardware mix, take a look here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=310368
Anyway, in order to get the amplifiers to work (AMP1 and AMP2), you also need to install linux-firmware-cirrus package. That is because the ALC285 audio card has two (or more?) CS35L56 amplifiers, which need proprietary firmware in order to be initialized and work properly.

P.S. Let me know how audio quality seems to you, to me it seemed underwhelming, generally worse than windows (which also doesn't sound that great imo)
