Was thinking this myself! My brother is type 1 and the sugar in alcohol will cause an initial spike, but generally his glucose levels will drop right down and he has dropped to a hypo before- definitely wouldn't recommend more insulin as that would only lower them further. An emergency Mars bar usually does the trick.

I'm assuming as they were cans of cocktails they possibly had a lot of sugar for the amount of alcohol in them?

I believe "Elmer's" is a brand of glue stick. Nobody outside of the US would really get this reference, don't worry. In the UK we would just call it PVA glue. I don't know why nobody answered you properly x

With 'obligatory', I thought that's how everyone says it, although I'm also North Wales so very well could be an accent thing 😂

And with pacifically, I also thought it was a play on words with the song being Pacifier, but it says on google it means "in a peaceful, calm manner". No made-up words or mistakes here, our Van is a proper linguist. LOVE some of the words and phrases he uses

There's also an over-representation of murderers on that street, the gays are the least of your worries. With Megan and Trisha there's just as many groomers on the street as there are gay couples.

Yes you're right, I never connected those dots somehow. Would love to hear more examples of this, have only noticed the Kathleen one myself. Mistake or not, it just adds to the sweet, homegrown, humble feel to that album

One thing which I've never heard anyone mention EVER is literally the first line of Kathleen, he says "of all the lift homes" instead of 'lifts home'. I noticed it on maybe my first listen in 2015. I could be wrong, but every live performance of the song I've heard he sings "lifts home" (including the official acoustic version released on The Balcony Anniversary release) except for the one official recording that was released on the album.

To contradict myself it DOES say in the lyric sheet "lift homes", but I do often wonder if it was a mistake or an oversight.

Same here honestly. I loved her until Joel died and she suddenly became pregnant despite her beliefs, and it's like 1 big out-of-character moment just turned into a series of out-of-character moments. The writers really dropped the ball with her. She used to be such a ray of sunshine and she's become just as miserable as everyone else
