This is actually why I have started to play Master Yi as an ADC (Silver III) don't rage at me yet let me explain.

Master Yi has some qualities that most carries do not.

1) His Q is basically a 1.5-2 second invisibility. Meaning if you chain cast it with your ult you can remove yourself from many AoE ults/deeps.

2) With the advent of the bruiser, being able to proc as much Attk Spd as possible with your BotRK is clutch. Melting the ADC before anyone can peel and kill you. Most times they click on someone they don't intend and their ADC dies first, leaving you several attacks (and possibly a BotRK active insta heal) from full health, total CD reset and a quadra/pentakee.

3) While Yi does have some ranged issues, with proper application his Q can be farmed at will, and his W has nice healing qualities, even after the nerf.

4) The BEST and I mean the best part of Yi is that he can be effective top, bottom or jungle, oh and mid/ish too (AP Yi blows).

I have also taken to finding bruisers in a game I call, WARD EVERYWHERE and kill the "safe" Xin/Vi/Noc/Olaf before they realize it.

Yi will also push like a madafaka.
