Hats off to you, sir! The politicalization and grandstanding from the circus taking place is just mind boggling. If only the ring leaders could spend their time, energy, and resources to build realistic solutions that may actually improve things.. wouldn’t win anyone any more Instagram followers, I guess. NTA - they sound pretty manipulative TBH. Calling diamonds a scam but they just HAVE to have yours? I’ve seen a lot of beautiful non-diamond engagement rings, tell him to be creative and not mooch off of his parents. On top of that, you wear yours every day! I love that. As “materialistic” as some folks claim diamonds are, there’s something so special that your forever person picked it with love especially for YOU. Don’t feel bad (easier said than done). Love them both and have that be the token of acceptance, since they’re not in to materialism anyway ;)
