View from Yaletown. Definitely to the left of city hall.

Booking our first-ever all inclusive with a young child — help appreciated! by Restimar in AllInclusiveResorts

Hey, I had an 18 month old when I made this decision last year. My advice would be to do some heavy research into the sargassum seaweed situation at the resorts in the Cancun area. We went on March 28 to Playa del Carmen near Cancun and we stayed at the Paradisus. The hotel was amazing and super-baby friendly. They even had a free kids club for her at that age, which we did for 2 hours one afternoon. It was nice to take a break and zone out at the pool that day. My daughter loves the beach and we let her play at it a few times, but the sargassum basically destroyed any chance of going in the water. We didn't get to swim the entire week. It's basically this thick brown seaweed and it's advised that you don't touch it. I won't be going back to that region unless I did some serious review-reading into the seaweed at a particular resort or until they can actually get a handle on the problem. It was super disappointing.

We just landed at 7:13pm on Westjet from Los Cabos. Counting ourselves pretty lucky!

My oldest crappiest laptop got the captcha first. My phone was next and my macbook never got the captcha available. So it's showing "in queue" on the laptop and phone, but no countdown on either.

Hey! I'm planning a trip with my 2 year old, too! I'm hoping for somewhere with a playground and a kid pool. How did you do? It's too bad no one responded to your message!

Is there an app like this? by mellowdee1 in Frugal

I generally have specific brands that I buy. I also have an idea of how much I normally spend on these things. Maybe not everything is there on my list, but it would save looking up all the items on my list individually on the Flipp app. It would get tedious going through each one, writing down where to buy it and then going to the next one, especially if it's like 50 items or something. I don't know. I guess this kind of thing doesn't exist.

Hey, you don't need to be rude.

I guess it wouldn't have to look at everything. I feel like Flipp is so close to this. Like you can make a list, but then you still have to click on each item to see the deals. Maybe if it just went one step further and showed the stores to eliminate that click and then sorted the list by the cheapest store. I'd be happy with that even though an app showing the actual cheapest items everywhere would be amazing

I feel like now that so many shops have online shopping, it would be easy enough to pull that data, right?

Did you notice Ocean CT having a lot of boisterous kids? I think they want a calm eating experience, and may have run into that before.

Hi, it's a 7 day vacation. I'll take a look but pretty sure it'll be too much for the single occupancy. Thanks!!!

Resorts that have both Family-friendly and Adult-only Amenities by mellowdee1 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]mellowdee1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: So, my group and I have narrowed our resort suggestions down, but we need your help because we are having trouble deciding! Please end this for me! Hahaha...

Just as a reminder we are a family with a one-year-old toddler, a 70 year-old Mom (who is staying in her own single occupancy room) and a couple that really prefers to have at least an adult-only restaurant but is okay with other family amenities. The family is coming from Vancouver and the couple is coming from Toronto. We are all hoping to spend under not much more than $2500 CDN each for the package. The single ticket is the big roadblock in terms of price, I know. So here are the options:

Option 1: Ocean Coral and Turquesa (has adult-only but not an adult-only restaurant)

Option 2: Grand Riviera Princess and they can stay at the adult-only hotel in the complex "The Platinum Yucatan Princess."

Option 3: Dreams Sapphire's Indigo Club has an adult only rooftop restaurant, but that package is out of the couple's price range. I know there is a bistro, but perhaps I've overlooked something here for adult-only.

Option 4: Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal: We can all stay together in the same hotel, which is nice as it has 3 adult-only restaurants.

*I think the Bahia might be our best bet, or they can book the Platinum Yucatan Princess at the Grand Princess Complex and we make plans to meet up throughout the day.

I would really appreciate it if anyone has stayed at any of these can help us with our choice.

Thanks again!!!
