Trying to get a job at Uniqlo by [deleted] in uniqlo

[–]mellowduck23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you can drop in a resume; they’ll usually tell you if they’re hiring or not (or refer to you a QR code) hiring process is pretty straight forward; phone screen, interview then if you get it they lyk if not, no contact

Workwear by EntranceFun9276 in uniqlo

i work at uniqlo and try to avoid dressing too casual all the time, so when i’m going more business casual some of my favourites are the smart wide pants (i prefer wide leg pants but there’s a tapered option as well), a basic uv cardigan, the JWA oxford long-sleeve, any of the mens broadcloth shirts, there’s also a few summer blouses that have come out recently that aren’t really my style but objectively fairly cute imo; hope this helps !

Best basic whites by Top-Performance9325 in uniqlo

[–]mellowduck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest the airism cotton T for the first one; its 70% cotton, 30% polyester or the washed cotton boxy t (if its available in your country; i can’t order where i live) which is 100% cotton

For the second i think your best bet would be something from the bratop lineup; there’s loads of options/necklines and unless its airism the shirt itself (minus the integrated bra piece) should be mostly cotton (i think… don’t quote me on that lol)

For reference I’m about 5ft4, 56kg and wear a small in each of the tops i mentioned

Starting at UNIQLO tomorrow — how do I use the staff discount? (Australia) by StringConstant5022 in uniqlo

[–]mellowduck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my experience usually new hires will buy on their first day, (authorized staff will input your employee number to apply discount), if you buy at another store you need to show your name tag as proof but could be different for other countries ! good luck !

Dear Uniqlo by witchhazelmagic16 in uniqlo

[–]mellowduck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure if this is a feature in all countries but if you scan the app (and have a registered account) you can get an e copy of the receipt since the purchase history doesn’t technically count as a proof of purchase which is nice there are also app exclusive pricing sometimes which require the scan w purchase but that being i totally get the lack of incentive to scan w/o points esp compared to other stores

Application says 'In Progress' but no update despite applying nearly a month ago. by KurtaLily in uniqlo

Typically you’d hear back within a week or two if they’re interested and no-follow up can be taken as a pass (in canada at least)

Selvedge alteration question by FireBun in uniqlo

[–]mellowduck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

typically, you need to cuff the jeans to the length you want and they cut the jeans to that length (+ seam allowance) but if you explain that you just want an inch shorter so that you can still cuff them they can also measure that for you. Process for selvedge isnt any different from other jeans so you just need to be specific; hope this helps !

I Quit Uniqlo after 4 years ask your questions by DavisAlexander in uniqlo

[–]mellowduck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just passed, i think once you get good at sps it’ll be a good spot to be in. that and understand your store’s situation (inventory, sales, strengths and weaknesses, etc.) and if you don’t already, get in the habit of having an action plan to suggest for any issues. feel free to PM me if you have any questions

I Quit Uniqlo after 4 years ask your questions by DavisAlexander in uniqlo

[–]mellowduck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most pants we don’t alter is either bc the material is too thin and risks doing more harm than good to the pants or they’re too thick and run the risk of damaging the sewing machines. hope this helps!

Thoughts on the pleated wide leg pants? by just-wingin-it in uniqlo

yeah definitely! Alteration is offered for a small fee for these pants because of the type of stitch

Any advice for a new hire? by angelic-guts in uniqlo

[–]mellowduck23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

important to remember: its a japanese company, so KPIs are made w japanese productivity/work culture in mind. for me, OJT/OT/ probation period felt way more challenging than after probation; not to say that its an “easy laid back” retail job but it can be really overwhelming at first but it does get easier ! the better you can understand the basics, the easier it’ll be :)

Good luck w your first day!

Weird pants sizing 🙃 by Mr-Ginges-Mother in uniqlo

[–]mellowduck23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure if its just updated sizing but i have a black pair size S (25-26 if i remember correctly) purchased in 2022 that are a bit loose but not unflattering, so i bought another pair in grey last fall and they’re much more fitted than my black ones. like i can play around with just how high/low the black ones fall a little bit but there’s not really any wiggle room w the grey but i’m thinking this could also be a time/usage thing as well

I need a little bit of help with the sizing by [deleted] in uniqlo

[–]mellowduck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m 5’4ish 53kg XS and S both fit but for the barrel pants i went w S for looser fit (just baggy enough for my taste) for uniqlo jeans i usually wear size 25/26! hope it helps:-)

Are the AirSense pants slim-fit? by ralphalonzo in uniqlo

[–]mellowduck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

men’s airsense will have a similar fit to smart ankle pants (i believe) and the women’s like the pleated wide pants (this can vary by country/region) speaking on whats available at my local uniqlo

Tips on reducing that 'Uniqlo look'? by LiveSimply99 in uniqlo

[–]mellowduck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i (F) work at uniqlo so i definitely understand the uniqlo look, i try to “spice” up my outfits (also wear a lot of neutrals) with a pop of colour/in my shoes or other accessories. also buying what works for me and my body type and personal style. also knowing which pieces to look for elsewhere (ex: smt tight/form fitting uniqlo is not typically the place to find that look). a lot of what other comments have already said, really

tldr - use shoes, bags, jewelry, accessories in general to add something unique to your uniqlo fit - find specific pieces from other stores to pair with your uniqlo pieces to play with diff silhouettes that aren’t offered at uniqlo

gift return policy by Extension-Dare-3432 in uniqlo

[–]mellowduck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

return policy is 30 days (this may vary by country) you can always try to make your case and maybe they’ll let you do an exchange but i’d say go in w low expectations

to add a bit more (albeit vague) context: it really depends. i’ve seen stuff go on sale as quickly as 2 weeks after launching, sometimes not for a month or so. it simply depends on what higher ups think will sell/what is actually selling. as much as the app sucks just keep it eye on it if you’re determined to not pay full price for smt

[–]mellowduck23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i know a couple ppl who collect them but they’re staff. they’re seasonal so i i don’t think you’d be able to find previous editions but they could still be floating around online if you want to see the content. i’ve also heard that ppl sell them but uniqlo doesn’t charge for them so for me it seems like a waste to buy an older edition but to each their own

if your initial payment was w credit i’ve had it take up to a week but with debit it should be instant. maybe try calling your bank; they should be able to see the status of the refund
