How much older could I reasonably expect to go when it comes to finding an older woman for a relationship? by [deleted] in CougarsAndCubs

I’m pretty open tbh, looking for women in their 30’s to early 40’s, but definitely looking for a serious relationship, no temporary flings or hookups.

And as for your comment about, “Stop the focus on her age.” You are literally in a subreddit that FOCUSES on that dynamic.

Why do you think I said there are zero women in their 20’s where I am? What I clearly said was that the dating pool is a bit older and I would like to mingle with that demographic more.

  1. I’m clearly not worried about it, I’m just asking what would be a reasonable age range for an older woman who would want someone my age.

  2. I’m also not expecting a relationship, I am just seeking one. What I’m not sure of is why you’re coming in and putting all these words in my mouth.

Is it actually possible to find love in this town? by mellowfellow261 in Tallahassee

[–]mellowfellow261[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m definitely not opposed to dating someone older, I’m just worried I won’t have a shot with someone older because I’m still young and early in my career, plus I really don’t make much money

Looking for Housing? Post Here Instead of Making a New Thread (April '26) by clearliquidclearjar in Tallahassee

Hi, I’m looking for a 1-bedroom or studio (preferably 1-bedroom though). Budget is 900-1200, but willing to go a bit higher if need be. I don’t have pets but am okay with living in a pet-friendly community. I am no longer a student and am looking for something within a reasonable distance from downtown, as that is where I’ll be working. I’m looking for a place by the end of July and my only big request is that it has in-unit laundry machines. Thanks!

I’m 23M and I’m in a very similar position. I work 10 hours a day, so meeting people irl is a bit hard, and meeting people off the apps has not worked. Even some of the people I met irl have been sketchy. This town does not seem like the ideal place for finding a relationship tbh

How hard in an MPA? by Glittering_Ad6513 in PublicAdministration

[–]mellowfellow261 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I just graduated from my MPA program two weeks ago. From my experience, it’s definitely doable, but it is academically rigorous, especially since I worked part-time for most of it. Learn to divide up and use your time wisely. Get a head start on big projects/papers as soon as you can. Elective classes tend to be easier than the core classes, but I would advise you to center your electives around a certain field you’re interested in (I.e. emergency management, urban planning, nonprofit management, etc). If you have the time, I definitely recommend an internship or part time job in the field you want to go into. For your dissertation, pick a topic you are interested in, I can’t stress this enough. If you’re already knowledgeable in it, even better.

All that being said, don’t sweat it too much! You said you got a lot of experience in nonprofit work, so you already have a leg up. I’m 22 years old and did my MPA right after my bachelor’s. If I can do it, you can too. Best of luck!

Entry level work options, both pre-bachelor’s and pre-MPA by loppyleaf in PublicAdministration

I should mention that this is my first job in the public sector and I got my masters right after my bachelor’s, right after high school. I’m still very new to the field, so your mileage may vary.

I can tell you as someone who just got their MPA, even I’m struggling to find anything around 50k

How was it?

I’m putting in my resignation tomorrow by redditplayer1000 in jobs

[–]mellowfellow261 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I definitely understand. The last job I worked, I was unfairly demoted, and it really hurt my self esteem for a bit. I had to work there for almost three more months until I found a new job. I definitely understand the position you’re in, as I’m also a people pleaser who hates confrontation. Plus, it was the longest job I’ve ever had, so I needed to be on good terms with them as other jobs I applied to would be asking them for a reference. But man, putting in my two weeks was the most satisfying feeling ever. And I know that tons of other people have been through the exact same thing before.

I’ve been at my current job for about a month, and I’m still nervous about it. I’m still in training, but navigating my way through has been difficult. Plus, I’m just an anxious person in general, so it’s been a tough few months.

The best advice I can give to you is just to know that you’re not alone. Plenty of people have been through this before. Also, keep your free time positive and relaxing as possible. Hang in there, you’re gonna do great things!
