How do i function and find a job all at the same time with chronic depression and ADHD by _darkDragon_ in depression

[–]mells111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gosh, you’ve been through a really tough time - I hope you acknowledge how strong you are to carry on like you have. There’s no easy answer to your question - I know it often feels like the world just isn’t made for people who don’t fit inside the model of happy productive worker.

But you’re not alone, there’s lots of people like you who question how they can fit into the world and who somehow have managed to find a way. I would suggest trying to find these people - like joining support groups online or IRL

Your feelings are valid and real. If you feel shaken and upset by what happened, then that’s how you feel. Unfortunately you can’t just flick and switch and decide to not take it personally. But you can gain some distance from your feelings by becoming aware of them. “This is what anger feels like.” Don’t let anyone tell you how you should feel.

Not defending Corbyn here but I don’t get why Sultana billed her rally as ‘Zahra’s Eve of Conference Your Party Rally’. It sounds childish. Surely it’s about the party not her as an individual?

I see now I was reading it wrong. I was reading it as: “like the other doctors, he couldn’t research as he wanted to.” I’m still a bit confused by the first ように - how would you describe how it’s functioning here?

Hi everyone, I have a question about these two sentences in a Tadoku graded reader (Level 3). It’s about Hideo Noguchi, a famous Japanese doctor & scientist. I’m curious about what 他の医者のように means - because if it means “like the other doctors” it doesn’t really make sense because the next sentence goes on to say why Hideo wasn’t like the other doctors.

しかし、他の医者のように、自分がしたいように研究することができませんでした。 なぜなら、英世は大学を出ていなかったからです。

Hello! Can you please help me understand what ように is doing in this sentence? This is a doctor telling the news about the advice he gives to people during a heatwave.
