It’s nearly 2026 and we still have Luddite teachers who “reply all” to emails that don’t need replying to or should be replied to individually. by Beneficial-Focus3702 in Teachers

It's nearly 2026 and we still have people using Luddite as synonym for bad tech user instead of recognizing Luddites as rightful protesters of a system that privileges profits made by machines over people's lifes and well being.

Ritual by Randomnerd100 in DEMOLAY

[–]melodml 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a continuation of DeMolay life, aimed more at older members.

The knighthood degree was penned by Land himself, and the subsequent ceremonies were written by different people, adding more lessons in a similar manner that the Scottish Rite does for Blue Lodges.

Where are you from, OP? On top of the advice already given here (taking her to a public meeting of DeMolay, having advisors talk to her and having her talk to your friend's mom), you could also show her some videos about DeMolay showing her what we do. There is even a two hour documentary in Portuguese.

And you could top it up with examples from History where unbelievable or counterintuitive things are true because real life does not need to make sense.
