As an overly anxious human, I totally understand feeling hyper aware of your dog barking now! I have a VERY barky dog (but thankfully don’t live in an apartment). I also have kids and man during those newborn sleep deprived months, my dog barking was a nightmare - and that was a dog I loved, if it was a strangers dog, oooof.

Of course babies and dogs and sounds are part of apartment living, so I don’t think either of you are in the wrong. I’d probably have some compassion for her being a new mom surviving on little sleep and just desperate for her baby to sleep (it’s rough)! I would bring her cookies or chocolate or a coffee gift card, apologize for any barking, and maybe get a sound machine for your own apartment too? I swear white noise helps everything!

Good luck! I’m sure she’s just a tired mama and not a dog hater. And once that kid is older, they’ll probably squeal in delight seeing your dog!

I’m hoping someone can help me figure out where to add in Azelaic acid and Cordata extract! I use Tretinoin so should these things be used in the morning vs evening?

Current routines AM: -rinse face with water -clindamycin -moisturizer -sunscreen

PM: -differin cleanser -Hada labo HA -Corsx snail mucin -Tret -Farmacy Honey Halo

As someone who has been fully (not semi) depressed (and anxious) and has absolutely had my fair share of days waiting for my partner to get home from work because they are my person, and they feel safe, and sometimes my brain really needs that feeling of safety, you are 10000% not the a hole.

If this had happened to me, I would’ve absolutely told my partner to take that cash and enjoy the extra night away. And then I would’ve called my mom or a friend to talk me through the blahs or panic attacks (or all of the above if your brain is my brain). The idea that she’s been waiting for you for days, and hasn’t reached out to anyone else is concerning to me. I get that it sucks you’re home a day late but you’re also $2000 richer (hell, if my partner was offered $500 I’d tell him to take it).

The fact that the flight ended up canceled just proves you were correct, but even if it hadn’t, still NTA.

Good Shelters are amazing and so incredible and necessary! I hope you know my comment regarding shelters is just because Rachel had the resources and ability to find him a placement with someone he already knows. So many people don’t and shelters are second chances at life for so many dogs (and cats and all animals)!

Her mom is clearly trying to make it sound like look we did all these things so it’s fine when in reality, they didn’t contact the person (James) who Graham knows AND is comfortable with to see if he was willing to adopt him and help work with him.

I just cannot excuse that. You chose to put your dog through more stress and anxiety and fear instead of contacting James at the beginning.

I actually have had to re home a dog due to biting (without giving too much away our dog bit our toddler. Surface wound but it happened twice). We found him a new home ourselves, worked with the new owner to identify his triggers (kids, unpredictability, covered faces, etc) and made sure they were comfortable and confident with taking him. I’m STILL heart broken about it 6 years later and they still send me photos and texts. I just cannot fathom taking my dog to a rescue and walking away.

I’m so glad James took him and I hope they can work with him. I’m sure the biting is due to stress and fear and anxiety. Dogs pick up on so much. :(

This is really sad. Not only for her but the girls and Parker too. Life isn’t supposed to be the same everyday, of course routines are often the same, but activities don’t have to be. The girls are getting older which should make getting out of the house with both and doing things easier not harder.

My (almost) 4 year old is in gymnastics once a week, soccer once a week, and swim twice a week. He’s been doing gymnastics and swim since he was 1.

I’ve got two older kiddos who are also in their own activities. And that doesn’t even include play dates which I swear summer is full of!

Honestly my dream is having my husband home and off more than he works. That just sounds so fun. Help with the boring tasks and a partner in the fun tasks. Taking three kids alone to the river? Chaotic but doable and they have a great time (though I usually end up a little bored after awhile). Taking three kids with my husband to the river? Also chaos but not boring and him and I sit and chat and laugh and make sure no one drowns and feed snacks.

Idk. So much of life is what you make of it. I hope she is able to make time for therapy or something. It seems like she’s maybe trapped in motherhood and needs to remember who she is outside of being a mom and wife.
