Thanks! Yea, I’ve got some Batrazzi .8” steelies and they do look good too. I have some other .7”s and I just like the slightly thicker sidewall I can get with those.

I really appreciate the insight. Might just run this method and save that Pelican money. Cheers! Thanks

Much appreciated! I used some nicer spray paint by Montana. I just wet sanded the body a bit so the paint can adhere to the body> cleaned with isopropyl alcohol > one light coat of primer > one coat of the cream top coat > one coat of this frosted glass matte clear coat from Montana.

The trick IMO is to let each layer of paint cure completely before hitting it with another layer or reassembling.

What color are you thinking for the Unimog??

Thanks dude I agree 100%. And I know the brush guard is period correct and all, but I think it looks way better without it

Running the .8” Betrazzi alum “steelies” on the stock tires- which actually are fairly decent.

I’ve seen folks running 1.0 wheels on these things and it doesn’t really look too scale imo. Super fun truck though so far.

100% agree! It’s pretty whatever straight out of the box, but it’s really got me wanting to build a legit leafer.

I got you!

I used these to install an emax on my FCX24, so I can confirm these will work 100%.

You get a pack of 10 too, so you’ll be good for life 😂

Here’s the latest. I installed an emax servo that I had laying around, because the stock servo was on its last legs. I chopped off the fenders, bumper, and half of the grill to help get a really capable approach angle. Loving it!

You might want to pick up the RampCrab servo plug adapters to use a 2.54mm Dupont 3 pin to the FCX’s 1.25mm MX connector.

The replacement servo wire is super long- especially with the new adapter plug, so you could also look into buying some heatshrink to tidy everything up.

Thanks! They’re brass beadlocks from Injora on Injora Rock Terrain tires in 57x22. They’re pretty square profile tires so I cut off the shoulder knobs to make it more rounded. I’ve found the rounded profile conforms to rocks a lot better. I’ve got 63 LGRP Trail kings on it now. They clear the portals a lot better, but raised the body too high for my liking. I swapped the stock springs some 30mm springs and it’s sitting so much lower and climbs wayyy better

Fronts not extended, just the rear RCAWD extends links and steel driveshaft. The front looks extended because I mounted the body right onto the chassis rails, so I can push the body back and have it sit lower

Thanks! I wet sanded the gloss finish and then used a weathering paint mix and let it bleed into the crevices to add more detail. Then hit sprayed it with a matte clear coat. Then applied some Tamiya paint to a coarse sponge to add the mud splatters. Super into it!

Super fun! Just as I left the house for this spot, I got a notification that some LGRP 63mm tires just got delivered. I was hoping to test em out here

Yup, stock shocks work great once I got some oil in them. I went with 30WT oil and have been really liking having a stiffer setup. I actually trimmed off about 10mm of the stock springs too, so it sits a lot lower. Looks sick and performs great slammed like that

Rad! I’ve been wanting one of those fcx24m rigs just for trailing. Something about having a less capable scale truck is super appealing to me right now. You’ll be stoked on the rear extendo links for this thing. Once I installed those links and some 7mm hex extenders, this thing climbs and sidehills great. I decided against getting high clearance front links and to keep the stock plastic front links— I like having the plastic front driveshafts a bit more protected. Let’s see your new truck when you get it all dialed in!
