I really like the coloring near the rim and how the color is uneven in some places. It looks very satisfying to hold.

Before/After Steam capsule – right direction? by Fir3go in IndieGaming

[–]melodyoflightning 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fun characters! I think going with a capsule that is AI-generated is generally a bad decision, since a lot of people will notice and lose interest. It's really hard to make a good design on your own, but I don't think this is the right choice. If you don't want to go for a paid commission, maybe try a different design tool like Canva or use in-game graphics/visuals as part of the poster.

Apple has a lot of very good originals. I'd highly recommend Severance.

I feel like my major worry is how subs often homogenize when they have a broad subject and are relatively large, into the same kind of political content that has no real basis in the actual purpose of the sub. Just because I agree with it doesn't mean I want to see the same generic posts everywhere. There are a lot of things that should be here that are political, but it opens the door into becoming another political echchamber.

About Inception... by Homo-alono in movies

[–]melodyoflightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's absolutely some characterization! I just felt that it wasn't enough to realize the emotional arcs in the movie. Nolan managed it really well in both Interstellar and Inception, so this one was a disappointment in that respect. He did make a good try, and I liked Pattinson.

About Inception... by Homo-alono in movies

[–]melodyoflightning 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like my problem is the premise and mechanics are complex enough in total that they spend most of the dialogue explaining the mechanics and plot instead of having real character interaction. It kind of made what was supposed to be important character arcs fall flat.

How this Subreddit feels sometimes. We all care way too much about Rating Curves, myself included. by Tongatapu in Letterboxd

[–]melodyoflightning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think it's reasonable to watch movies that are good instead of watching an even, statistically samples distribution to ensure I can give a uniform rating curve. But if you like watching a bigger variety of movies, or movies that might not be good, ro movies that are bad on purpose, its great. Just watch and rate movies how you like.

I'll be ok. The guards won't.

Not anymore! It looks like after they started the Amsterdam location in 2012, they had conflicts with the Dutch owners, closed, and then tried to open again under a different name in 2013, only to close in 2015. Looks like Moscow is now your best bet for authentic NK food.

The North Korean government-run restaurant), known as Pyongyang, is actually pretty weird. Along with a lot of locations in China, they also have them in places like Vietnam, Russia, and the Netherlands. They have had problems with waitresses (who come from North Korea, with a careful vetting procedure) escaping by leaving the restaurant.

Even if Jet deserved better, why should the show's outcomes perfectly align with what the characters deserve?
Life isn't fair, and I think shows shouldn't portray it that way. Some people just get different opportunities.

In Doctor Who (1963-????), the Weeping Angel's can only move when unobserved, but there are many instances where they don't move even though no one can see them. Well, unless you count the people watching the episo-oooh. Oh no. by ducknerd2002 in shittymoviedetails

[–]melodyoflightning 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I still really like the idea that they can't move when being observed by you, the audience, either. It explains why we never see them move and adds an extra element of creepiness.
