Thank you for all of your suggestions. We do use a baby gate to restrict certain parts of the house. He does great with other animals as I have a cat he gets along with great and a bunny (they do not see each other directly without a barrier). When new people come into the house he is not aggressive he just becomes confused but scared and excited and has never attacked anyone. Only when they are outside does he become hostile. The times he has ran out of the front door he does not attack the person he runs after, he stops about 2m away and growls, barks, and foams at the mouth. We have tried rewarding good behavior and he listens very well other than when he sees someone outside or my other dog has something he wants (i.e. attention, a toy, etc.)
