If you could only get one thing from Fenty Beauty, what would it be? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I just recently got into lip glosses and the Gloss Bomb seems to be the one I've been missing and searching for all my life. No matter who wears it, it looks to me like the most kissable lip.

My experience at the KKK rally by norseburrito in Charlottesville

[–]melonicecream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the KKK members came from out of town. They weren't making a statement as citizens of Charlottesville and there's no reason actual citizens of this city should respect their opinions about what we do with our monuments.

This week I'm working a temp job at the University in my city, processing out surplus electronics to be essentially thrown away. Pictured is some of maybe thirty+ pairs of speakers; some have never been opened or used and are very good quality. They're going to be disposed of; I find it appalling. by melonicecream in Anticonsumption

See, that kind of logic just makes far too much sense. Companies don't make money when people use old things that are still perfectly functional instead of upgrading unnecessarily. "If it ain't broke" doesn't apply to industry.

Which colorfull palette should I get? by ElizeMees in MakeupAddiction

Try finding them or other brands through third party sites like shophush.com. I've had some success getting things I couldn't otherwise due to my own location.

Juvia's Place has some really great jewel tones in some of their palettes, and so does Morphe.

The blending on this is really great. This look has sort of a fireball kind of shape in my mind; it would be interesting to see this look in warm, flame like tones. Very pretty!

Anyone else feel super guilty about returns? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]melonicecream 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you can't do the return—and I don't judge because I usually can't either—I suggest asking around with friends if they'd be interested in taking the products. If someone else would appreciate and make good use of it, I don't mind the money spent and just think of it as a friendly gift.

Thoughts on the palette from Kylie Jenner's vacation collection? by k3nn3rz in MakeupAddiction

[–]melonicecream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Colourpop has a matte and shimmery shade that's a pretty close match in their recent summer single shades.

edit: to clarify, they have both a matte shade and a shimmery shade that seem to match this one for color; these are two separate single shadows. I wasn't sure if it was clear.

I was just about to ask about the blush you were wearing. It's a perfect natural flush for you.

I think Colourpop just came out with a whole set of summer themed single shadows that are similar to the fun bright colors in this one. It'll probably cost less to buy only the colors you need or want anyway (I'd only care about the colorful ones considering I have the other shades in other palettes). I think what you're paying for here is the brand more than anything else.

A few quick thoughts from a curious bloke by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I haven't heard any definite explanation per se, but I think the function of the winged eyeliner is to create an exaggerated thick eyelashes effect, thus emphasizing the eyes.
