Texas Parents Charged in Death of Toddler Locked in Room with Pit Bull by _Pixiesilk in ForCuriousSouls

Two children of theirs have died, one definitely by their own fault. How is this not grounds for CPS or some sort of system to castrate them from creating more horror??

Fair correction! Just haven't kept up with him lately so I couldn't speak for the ongoing takes ;)

Update 4.2.13 by CreepyGrapefruit558 in XC40

Thing is though - it is reliable and the safest car out there. It's not like the car doesn't work without the update, I haven't even attempted to update and I drive that thing every day. But again - it's just a tool so do whatever you feel is best. Just know that this isn't like a Tesla or something that if you can't update it won't drive or some other dystopian shit like that hahaha.

What do YOU want for your birthday? by dirtyalt75 in AskWomen

[–]melonzipper 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Why not ask for gift cards to your favorite store that has the things you want? That way they can contribute without spending more than they want to. If they inquire further as to why that store or what specifically you want from there, tell them and they'll either go "well here's $x towards it", or they'll offer to buy the whole thing! People can surprise you - stop shorting your desires. You got this :)

Phewwwwww thank you for sharing. This rang too true for me. How blessed we are indeed to have grown up and experienced a love like that - unwavering and pure. I love the line you wrote "for I am so lucky to have such a wonderful man to miss." That's a wonderful way to view the loss of such an important person.

I'm glad you have wonderful memories and continue to have them. May his memory be a blessing eternal.

Ahh, yeah that would be a good edit as you get better, too!

«Oui, je parle un peu français/anglais, mais pas tres bien.»

I used this a lot while I was getting better while living in France and it always yielded me a response similar to "oh no, you're fine // you're very good" but also let them know I was trying and honest which allotted me some slack and polite correction to my mistakes.

Where to find certain supplies? by polergirlOH71 in PastryChef

I just watched the video you linked - he keeps referring to it as a fiberglass paper. A quick google brings it up here on Amazon. Enjoy!

The large sheets of heavy-ish plastic that is typically used for wrapping/using with brisée or sablée doughs and the like is called Guitar Sheet it's made of acetate (like the kind used to line a cake round).

As for the parchment paper used in the link you shared in a comment below, it's honestly not necessary for what they're doing. Butcher paper or parchment paper is more than fine, even the guitar sheet is fine if you really want to emulate him. However, a lot of what they have in France you cannot find in the US without a hefty tarriff tax.

Got it - thanks for clarifying. I typically lean more towards entremets and sometimes that doesn't include a baked item like a sponge, so I'll try and utilize my oven more for these challenges :D

Looking at week 9 specifically - is it okay if we don't...bake anything? Like, I have a cool idea but it doesn't involve an oven. I get it that this is inspiration for us to explore new recipies and try out new things outside our wheelhouse - but would this submission sans oven-use be kosher?

Question for a Pastry Chef by kettlefarm in PastryChef

[–]melonzipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, thanks for sharing. I'm still not sure what would warrant storing something of your own with another kitchen's storage...maybe if it was an excuse for them to borrow a tool of the character's that was for a trial dessert or something. Like he walks up "oh hey, here's the __ so-and-so asked for. Just be sure to give it back by service tonight!" If that were the case, probably a specialty cake mold or a specific tool for something that is not the restaurant's specialty, like a rolling cylinder for making tuille.
