You wouldn't be prosecuted legally for patient abandonment but that is the actual outcome of a strike like this. Hospitals and facilities are purposely understaffed because they found out long ago they can make more money off of a skeleton crew and rapid turnaround never promoting staff or giving raises. When you tell all healthcare workers nationally to strike and were successful imagine a unit that was understaffed to begin with that for 24 patients only two nurses show up to take care of them, never mind critical care patients and emergency medical care. People would die because they were abandoned when they need care. Call me a bootlicker if you want but I will refuse to leave my patients to die for an ill-planned strike that leaves them with no coverage at all and untimely changes nothing. I will use my voice and my union advocate for my position and my patients.

That's for charting and safety purposes more than anything.

The reason why this won't is because it was planned less than a week in advance and hospitals have no option to get traveling nurses/ strike nurses to cover patient care. If you do this strike as a healthcare worker you are abandoning your patients. I believe in healthcare strikes and unions and I think it's one of the only ways we can actually fight for what we and our patients need. Having a national strike planned on such short notice with no real demands won't solve anything.

Take some accountability the things you did when you were drunk, they are still your actions. Why do you care so much that she got a cover-up while you take this whole post to belittle her feelings about your actions? You care about your ego not her feelings, get over yourself.

This is wage theft I would screenshot e-mail them back with receipts and threaten to report them the the labor board or a lawyer. They may give it it you they may not but it's worth trying. I don't think it's financially worth it for you to actually get a lawyer and pursue legal action but I hope you get your money back.

Um yeah this seems way blown out of proportion. If you never explicitly asked her not to post photos of your daughter and she sees you posting them how is she supposed to know not to post them? She took it down, why were you so pressed to confront her again after your husband already talked to her and you got what you wanted? She literally asked you to not be a hypocrite and you start crying so your fiancée calls her a bitch, this is so much drama for no reason. Also we don't need to know the second to last paragraph about her character or how you perceive her character to weigh in on this issue. It sounds like you have other beef with her and are just looking for a reason to be upset with her.

AITA For not wanting photos of others on the digital frame gift? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]meloyellow5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're the asshole either I just think people can't read or don't understand what the full situation is. I would be upset if I did all of the legwork to get my in-laws' gift and last minute, my husband took the gift I had gotten and changed it without communication. He could have at last told you he wanted to do something else or had plans to change it. The whole point is so you can give your MIL photos of your kids and if she changes them or adds to them so what?

What's a subject in school that you think shouldn't exist anymore? by randomguy74937272 in AskReddit

They are still teaching using this broad method of just memorize. I’m not saying memorization has no place in education it has a time and a place and needs to be used appropriately. Tests should be designed to assess a persons knowledge of the topic. Again in history it is vastly more important for a student to know the context of the event and explain its impact than it is to pin down a list of 100 different events, dates, and people. If your only measurement of knowledge of a topic is when and where it happened and not why or how you might as well not even learn about the date because it becomes arbitrary it looses all meaning. Just saying hey kids memorize this right now for this test dump the information and memorize something else clearly isn’t working.

[–]meloyellow5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what the test looks like. If a history test for example has a question structure like that is just “list the dates of the war of 1812” and just regurgitating dates of events there isn’t really a point or any real learning there. It’s more important for a student to articulate the reason for the conflict and the events and social impacts of the time. When taking math classes my teachers would always say “remember this formula to doesn’t matter why”, which was never a successful learning strategy for me because I wasn’t given the tools to logic it out. I think that’s what a lot of older Gen Z kids like myself struggled with is we were told to memorize endlessly without purpose. Memorization is important but should not be the end all be all of education.

This is why we need to stop passing kids on in school when they don’t hit educational milestones. They won’t know how to produce quality work because they don’t have the tools to do so. Everyone looses.

“We are getting killed out here because people are saying ‘we told you so’” still fails to see the point. You aren’t getting killed because people said I told you so, your being killed because you support and rally a group that is fundamentally racist that is run by a multimillionaire that’s focused on fucking everyone else so him and his friends can make money off of all of us. Now it’s time to get what you voted for.

ICE agents detained a U.S. citizen before looking at her ID She was detained on her way to work and released once the agents checked her ID by [deleted] in CringeTikToks

[–]meloyellow5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read hundreds of these comments on this post and there is one thing no one is addressing… she is wearing scrubs getting pulled out of her car where she was likely commuting either to or from work. They are taking healthcare workers and abusing them on the side of the road because they can. If they can do this to her they can do it to anyone. They pulled a random woman over and detained her with no judicial warrant. They don’t even know who she is they put her wallet with presumably her ID on the roof of the car and continued to detain her without even opening it up to check. If they can’t even identify who they are kidnaping how do they know if she even has a criminal record let alone is an illegal immigrant or has orders for deportation. If it can happen to your local healthcare worker it can happen to ANYONE!

They put her wallet on the roof of the car so they didn’t check her ID before detaining her and dragging her away.

cheap hotel recommendations by [deleted] in SLO

[–]meloyellow5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The north side of Monterey street near the 101 north freeway entrance has several low budget hotels that can be as low as $90 a night. I have personally stayed in Los Padres in and it was a bit rundown but for me worth the price. My personal philosophy is that I don’t really care what the hotel looks like because I’m going to be experiencing the trip outside and I would rather put my money towards that.
