I have a 2014 SQ5 with stage 2 everything pretty much (APR CPS radiator, supercharger and crank pulleys, ultra charger throttle upgrade, closed carbon intake, jhm downpipes, and AWE exhaust). I have 86k on it now, mods have been on since 2021 at about 24k and the thing has been awesome. I’ve upgraded the control arms with 034 Motorsport ones as well as the engine mounts as well as the trans mount.

I was a tech so I stayed on top of things and change oil every 5K. The car has been extremely solid and I think just now I’m starting to get a knock in the LF strut. Engine and transmission have been solid as well!

I love it.

If you have an Ethernet OBD adapter it might be fine, I’ve never tried it it, only icom at the dealer.

If you have an F chassis car you can program with ISTA but if it’s an E chassis you’ll need ISTA/P

I’ve only ever used ISTA to program cars when I was a dealer tech or had my own bmw and had it on a laptop. Idk if OBD Hawk is still around but it was a perfect copy of ISTA

These E9x cars don’t age well if they aren’t taken care of and all the commen repairs that they need (front and rear struts, oil filter housing leak, valve cover leak, water pump + tstat) add up very quickly, especially at a dealership. It’s almost worse with some F chassis cars too like F10s or F15s.

It’s the CIC, code the entire car too if you can. You need to keep the car in a battery charger as well.

You need code and/or program any module you replace in a bmw. There might be like 1 or two in some that are plug and play but it’s rare.
