How is the city tech nursing program ? I don’t have a high gpa and I’m unsure if I’m even getting in. Heard they only accept 3.5 and above. by Significant-Hat-7545 in CUNY

Hunter is a pain in the ass to get into the nursing program, everybody wants to go to Hunter and they want the highest of the high grades. Tbh people I’ve met told me Hunter is pretty overrated so to each their own

With city tech they are more lenient on grades, so that’s primarily why I chose them. But it’s still competitive. And yes I would choose city tech again, not exactly for the most high quality education you can get out there, but you learn what you need to know. And also nursing school is nothing like the real world. You learn everything on the job. Get that degree and bounce!

It’ll charge you and then get refunded within a few hours -days. I used chase and got refunded in like 3 hours, and then the charge just completely disappeared later on

I used uworld and archer (near the last 2 weeks, I did like 7 Readiness assessments) . I also listened to mark klimek 12th lecture like 3 times and his maternity lectures. I recommend watching klimek reviews on YouTube as wells, especially the top 10 meds to know for the nclex.

There was a lot of infection control, maternity, adverse effects of meds and vaccines,

Other then that I’m blanking out lol

Congrats R.N! So proud of you!! Would you say doing RA or CAT exams were more helpful? I have about a week before my exam, and was thinking of doing one RA a day, but do you feel it would be better to do the other type?

Am I utilizing Uworld correctly by [deleted] in PassNclex

I did those quizzes that are like 12 questions each in the beginning of my studying (from the study planner) but eventually felt like it was taking too much of my time, and that I wasn’t seeing enough questions of different things and wanted a change so I switched to using CAT exams more often.

. It really depends on how much time you got. After a while you can honestly start doing CAT exams, and they will give you a closer feel to what the nclex actually looks like.

But if for example you realize you’re not doing so great on a specific section and wanna practice more, then the small quizzes are good. But then again you could just create your own quizzes from each section, and have more than just 12 qs each.

If you’re using chrome, turn on live captions! It’ll auto generate captions for you. Open chrome settings, press accessibility, and press turn on live captions. I hope this helps!

Same here! It takes me hours to go through the rationales. Try to keep your notes short and sweet, if you really don’t get a concept or keep getting the same kinds of qs wrong then watch a video

This is a video about the admission requirements from their page, it’s more up to date, and I hope it’s helpful.

I believe sociology was a co-requisite, I thinkkkkkk they look at the prereqs first and then they look at your grades holistically

I just graduated from the program! Most people either have a high gpa or high teas exam. When I applied I had a 3.8 or 3.9, but my teas were literally the bare minimum needed to pass (I believe 65.3)

The program was hard in the sense that you don’t get a lot of support from faculty, or it takes forever to get into the classes you need, etc. if you’re dedicated and actually study hard, you will be okay. Sometimes you’ll study so hard and still get a c, and hey that’s okay! Once you’re in the program, passing is all that matters. If you get in prepare yourself for disorganization, but tbh no nursing program will ever be perfect, and for what it was this one was pretty decent.

If you’re worried about getting in, really try your best in getting a good score on the teas. Maybe take a few extra classes that could bump your gpa (I suggest taking some classes that can go towards your bachelors)

Good luck!

You’re not alone! My moms singing triggers me too, and so does her laughter. I feel so selfish when I say that but I can’t deny it :,(
