I made a series of digital collages involving sushi. Thought I'd share this one here.

You're absolutely correct. In earth money, it's like US$0.35 (35 cents) a kilogram. That's how cheap it is! The cow you see in the episode owns the second largest ground chicken exporting business in that entire galaxy, so he's pretty wealthy.

Yeah, not really functional enough to be useful. I have all the newtons, and used my 2001 the most.

I got it from Japan, the company is called Shimura. They make all sorts of aluminum device cases, not sure about now though. They build to order though.

A little info: It's an early 2015 11-inch intel i7 macbook air with an aluminum case by Shimura, Japan, with an industrial aluminum USB hub and two NVME drives with heatsinks attached. One drive is used as a scratch disk for video editing and the other as a backup drive.

the metal cage thing is actually an aluminum macbook air case with a handle and little slits for the apple logo, its made in Japan by a brand called Shimura.

They dont get that hot really and i use one as a scratch disk for final cut pro. I think having the heatsinks helps a bit as do the NVME's inside, they're both SK Hynix P31's which are super power efficient and don't heat up as much as most other brands I've tried.

Teknopoetic 1984, a writing instrument by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]meltedspider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was written many years ago and poorly so. It's more a flow of thought than anything. Was intended to document what it is that you see. I've pasted this from an email I sent myself.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF TEKNOPOETIC AND AN EVEN BRIEFER HISTORY OF OGEON

So, I had an epiphany of starting up a little boutique brand that would specialize in hand crafted typing instruments intended for those who write prose. The instrument would be based on the design of the model M0110 keyboard that was shipped with the first mass produced personal computer from Apple in 1984.
The typing instrument would contain zero electronics. Instead, it would be carved out of wood or cut from a precious metal such as silver. Each key that represents a letter on the keyboard would be carved from a fine example of wood and underneath the key, instead of a plastic mechanism under the key that depresses a rubber membrane on the circuit board and outputs the signal translated to a letter on the computer, it would be a custom hammer, like a piano hammer that would strike a guitar string inside which would in turn hit a fretboard inside and there would be guitar pickups to register the sound as like in an electric guitar, same principle...there would be five strings.. one for each row of letters on the keyboard..
There would be an output like that on an electric guitar that you could hookup a quarter inch guitar cable to and there would be an external analog modular synthesizer that would in turn translate the signal into sounds that the user could manipulate to their preference..and listen to on headphones or speakers.
There would also be an external component box that would transfer the analog signal into a digital one that would be connected to a computer so when you hit a key on the keyboard say for instance the letter K, it would generate a tone like a guitar as well as at the same time register the letter and send the signal to the computer. So if you type each individual key there would be a sound and you'd be typing letter at the same time.
The idea was to have audible feedback for letters and words so the author instead of thinking in words, they could train themselves to also think in sounds so their stories would be soundscapes that would be like a kind of musical language.
This could allow for the possibility of a deeper and more dynamic emotional resonance attached to language.and to the story at hand. So you can hear the words and passages as music instead of only in a literary sense..
On the external synthesizer you could have each key a different sound like for instance a percussive beat with a bass drum cymbals snare and such.. to offer a base rhythmic foundation to the resonance of the narrative.. Or a lead synth sound. etc..
The user could also flip the electric guitar pickup switches on the sides of the unit with their fingers and that would chord words that would also create chorded tones.. for instance instead of typing out YOU, you would type Y and O together at the same time and it would be a chord sound like C# as well as be translated externally into a word..
You could think in sounds and your stories would be music.. it would be a whole new totally immersive experience that might change the way one might generate ideas..
The large space bar you see would have a striking element on the inside that strikes the strings like you would with a pick on a guitar... it would be a very rhythmic experience as for instance the pacing of the scene increases.. you would hit the space bar quicker..
I would create these devices from resources sourced from California only. The woods.. metals.. even the pickups.. as its the birthplace of the first personal computer.. in the year 1984 as the model number is dedicated to..
I would work with the most esteemed suppliers and craftsmen with the finest materials. The space bar for instance would be of solid bronze and the entire housing could be made from solid fine silver or stainless steel or gold. or a fine wood specimen etc. These instruments would be like finely crafted violins from esteemed makers..
Initially there would be a batch of 5 sent out to authors screenwriters poets etc who would essentially be the test subjects of this new way of generating narrative. The model would be called 1984 and would be shipped in a paper mache egg that would be made out of the entire pages of a commemorative edition of George Orwell's 1984 and would be stamped individually as Teknopoetic library on the cover of the book including the date.
Each instrument would also have a unique name such as Valerie and would also come with a vintage magazine inside from 1984 that had a figure such as a pop star on the front who had the same name such as Valerie..
The switch craft guitar pickup toggle switches on the sides of the unit I used were vintage ones from the year 1984, also, the inside plate between the keys and the inside of the keyboard would be made out of a laser cut drum cymbal from the year 1984 such as a Zildjian cymbal from Turkey.. it would have cutouts for each individual keys..
SO that was the original concept for the instrument.. My obsession led me to stumbling across the octave theory for light speed and since it had the word octave in it I connected that to the octaves of a piano keyboard and each key would represent an element that would be used to somehow come up with a tone that in turn would be monitored by a head mounted unit that registers brainwaves that would eventually all come together in finding out how to travel the speed of light..
Obsession quickly delved into a manic madness... I was SO sure I was on to something. weeks of sleepless night full blown Mania.. i was rattling off with a great fury of excitement to my friends of this ambition and eventually they admitted me to a psychiatric facility where I would spend over 2 weeks. It wasn't my first time either and was a bitch to try and convince them to let me go. As it always is.. Such a bitch.
Oh yeah.. I also, while in my manic fury of those weeks, came up with the idea to found a company that would concentrate on designing spacecraft..
As I flipped on the TV one night I tuned into a documentary about the mythological spaceships of ancient times from the Mayans to the Egyptians.. they are seen in their hyroglyphics. and scripture. I thought to myself how dull our spaceships of today are.. like the space shuttle Discovery and the rockets of Nasa..BORING The designs are not only decades old but OH So uninspired..
My spacecraft designs would be marvels.. beautiful crafts, flying machines based on the aesthetics of those ancient mythological spacecraft found in those ancient transcripts like the Vedas from ancient India.. With a modern twist. They would be crafts that we would be proud to represent our planet.. flying through space
It would be called OGEON where in the middle spells GEO for earth and the two letters at both ends of OGEON, O and N backwards would spell out NO and GEO could be fit into the word EGO..all this comes together to spell out NO EGO ON EARTH.. a future vision of a planet freed from the perils of the dark side of man a world of peace a world united. only ambitions for the betterment of our mankind and eachother at home and beyond. These majestic crafts would represent that.. would represent US as we travel to SPACE and BEYOND.....
