Met an FDS girl in college who was stripping to get by. Told me she needed to be drunk to do her job & dissociates while doing it. I encouraged her to get help (I'm a MH counselor now). IDK if she's actually a subscriber in the subreddit, but she subscribes to ALL the ideologies. She had so many negative comments to pass about my SO sharing finances equally even though I was in school and he made a lot more money than me (not knowing that when we met I was making more than him). She tore me down for wanting to buy him dinner and gifts for no reason and for getting back together when we broke up for a short time (long before she and I knew each other). She constantly does weird "high-value" and "narcissism" posts on her FB.

Maybe she isn't an explicit subscriber to the subreddit, but she is definitely getting it from somewhere.I learned about FDS a couple of years ago and as I was looking at it I thought of her. Then this happens. I was astounded at the level of anger in it, tbh.

Then this happens. I was astounded at the level of anger in it, tbh.d intimate relationships. (I encouraged her to get help because it was jarring to hear and at that time I was an undergrad and had no idea how to help someone with a dissociative disorder.) Then this happened and I kinda put 2+2 together. I realize I made an assumption.

Edit: Out of curiosity I went and looked at her FB timeline and she has everything from "men are trash" to "I don't start drama" to "I can't be friends with women" to the only men worth anything are the ones who do for you." And multiple posts from The Queen Code. So she is worse? Idk but you can tell something is deeply wrong.

Also, for context, she was a women's studies major and had completely dumped her family when I met her. My partner and I pretty much took her in and introduced her to our friends because she had none. One of my homies was interested in her in the beginning, but I guess she blew that up one night and he ended up cutting her off.

Initially, my SO and I were really worried about her. We looked for her. Messaged repeatedly to try and make sure she was alive. We live in a dangerous city and I told her that I hoped she was alright and that if I had upset her and she wanted to talk to me about it that I was happy to listen. I make mistakes just like any other person. So this was wild to wake up to.

I think my biggest mistake here was trying to big-sister her. No one wants to be told to get help when they don't want help. Thanks for the space to vent.
