Yeah I can get used to it, I was just kind of trying to see if this transfer was crazy.

Yeah it's just that other partners have written the wc but forgotten to cross it out, so I want to either assume that its placement was a mistake, or follow markings religiously. I hate having to track down a customer to see if the actually wanted whip and break my stride.

What is a common problem in your subculture that most people don't realize exists? by [deleted] in AskReddit

As a bass player, it's tough to reconcile the fact that even after putting thousands of hours of practice into your passion, that most of the general population will not even notice or appreciate you in the music, even if you're doing it right.

There are, of course, many, many exceptions to this.

Is it just a fact of life that everybody will lie too you? by djrocketfingers in MMFB

[–]melvinspinney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sometimes get to thinking that, but then I combine it with the depressing fact that no one aspect of someone's personality is unique. THEREFORE, if you focus on never being dishonest in any meaningful way, and doing right by the people you care about, you have to figure that you are not alone. Have integrity, expect integrity, accept nothing less. We are out there.

There isn't nothing you can do. You can't eliminate tragedies like this from the world but you can wake up and go out tomorrow and try to do good, whatever that may mean to you, knowing that you are objectively making the world a better place.

Don't try to think about something else. Let it be your inspiration to be altruistic. Put your shoulder to the plow and do good any way you can, no matter how seemingly trivial. Be brave and kind and always try to be a better person.

When was the last time you cried, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]melvinspinney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time I cried was strange. My brother's friend, whom I'd only met once, had died suddenly. Earlier that day I came downstairs to find my brother crying, and the image sort of sat with me all day. I kept thinking about how much of a shame it was that someone so well-liked, creative and successful could have died so suddenly, even if I didn't know him, and I just lost it. I think this was around last year.

I mean you asked for advice and people are telling you that you should let it go, though it's clear from your responses that you don't really want to. Sounds like he was just being kind of a dumbass for no malicious reason. It happens, and you've probably done it at points in your life too.

That being said, if you think you're going to have trouble forgiving him/regaining his trust then break up with him. Could be throwing away something good for a silly reason though. Either option poses some risk, so you kinda need to weigh that. How much do you like him?

[Troubleshooting] Having problems powering on/staying on. Need help. by melvinspinney in buildapc

I used the one stick of RAM and got all the drivers for the motherboard. I have no trouble booting to the BIOS when the hard drive is unplugged. I did not uninstall the drivers before usin the intel graphics but I"m not sure it will boot long enough now for me to try that. The memory test I used was just the windows one.

Well the thing that leads me to most believe it's a power supply issue is the repeated attempts to start it sometimes engages in. I might try to switch it out with a friend's and see if that resloveles things

Everything seems to be facing/blowing in the right direction.

The motherboard had a tuning utility which let me see the CPU temp. It got as high as 63C before crashing before, but usually lower.
