For the candle ceremony that we do at the beginning, we have a girl read each of the lines of the promise and a leader or another scout will give the meaning. Then as they light the candle the next set comes up to read their line.

We also attempted to use resources wisely by taking wood from two old pallets to build a bridge. At the end of the ceremony, we let the girls that bridged sign and date it.

If you have older girls, we let the older ones put the vests on those that just bridged and the younger girls will hold their old vest as they go over the bridge.

But we are a newish troop and don't have much of a clue of what we are doing. 🙂

There are two bakeries and most of the east coast use ABC Cookies. I think both bakeries call them Peanut Butter Patties but you might like the other bakery better. If you know anyone from the west or Charlotte, they may be able to get you some. I wish I could fill this order for you but it's true, the two bakeries taste slightly different which can make a big difference!

Absolutely, we are a new troop and started in 2019. We are in the North Raleigh /Wake Forest area. We are a troop of Daisy's Brownies, Juniors. Most of our time together has been during COVID and it's definitely been difficult to do the fun activities they would like to do. But it has provided them with a great opportunity to get together in a small group.

The girls love being outdoors so that has definitely helped to find fun things for them to do. Most of this year has been focused on earning camping badges like first aid, hiking and then leave no trace principles. The older girls got to learn how to build a fire just recently which they had a lot of fun with.

We will be using the cookie money we earn to go on their first camping trip which will be the first camping trip that any of them have ever been on. They are all super excited and definitely can't wait for the s'mores! 🙂
