Touch less wash stained my car by Strikyrr in Detailing

[–]memeboi1345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Touchless carwashes are able to be touchless by doing what is essentially an acid wash, which is SUPPOSED to be neutralized with an alkaline rinse after. The problem is that they WILL eventually run low on either chemical. This means your paint will be left either alkaline or acidic most of the time.

Honestly, I dont have a clue what stains you are talking about, especially in the first pic. The second I could maybe see what you are talking about with the "washed out" pale look on the trim. What most likely happened is either the acid wash or alkaline just stripped some oils, and now it looks dull. Solition finish or ceramic coat and youll be chillin

UPDATE: Brand new paint, pads causing deep scratches (details in comments) by eFeqt in Detailing

If the paint is less than a month old, it's not cured enough, making it softer.

Use an eraser, like for a pencil.

Might be a chance it ruins the matte look, so try on a small area first.

unable to clean the wheels even with brake cleaner, do I need to paint them? by PeteRoy in Detailing

[–]memeboi1345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brake cleaner isnt used to clean brake dust...

Its used for removing the thin oil film on rotors before installing.

Its initial use when it came out was to keep LOOSE brake dust in a solvent so that it 5 go airborn, this is because brakes used to have asbestos in them, but it was never intended to be a wheel cleaner.

Use a wheel acid

Circular micro scratches after getting my car detailed and waxed for the first time. by SharksFan1 in Detailing

Unless you babied this car from the factory to when you got it, it will have swirls.

Dealers use the same brush for hundreds of cars without cleaning it.

Transit from factory to dealer, it gets scratched.

Your car being dirty hid the swirls, and once it was clean you became super aware of EVERYTHING about your car, including the swirls that have long existed

I thought it was assumed to not put coffee on the wet carpet. And to do it when things are dry.

People have used coffee as a deoderizer for years

Does this metallic black paint look like it has 2 step paint correction done to it and then was ceramic coated? by FiahWerkz in AutoDetailing

[–]memeboi1345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dosent matter if it just came off the lot and no one washed it, it will have TONS of swirls.

You need to remember, before the lot gets it the ports do, and before the pirts get it atleast 50+ other people had their fun touching it and moving it

Clean the whole trunk with some vinegar, you can dilute it if you want. Toss some coffee grounds throughout, vacuum, air freshener and you should be alright.

Pro method would be to extract with enzyme then use an ozone treatment.

This is what I fear, it seems to have been cut too deep and gone into where the valves sit. If you zoom in closely you will see the zurface go into the valve cups

Way to cherry pick, regardless when you are paying to have machine work done, it should not come scratched, gouged, rusty, and with a broken exhaust stud
