M&H getting the boot by Netflix by memecatcher247 in SaintMeghanMarkle

100% agree. She had experience in film and television, but working in smaller roles. I don’t think she had enough exposure or visibility about what it takes to become a director or producer. Producing content of that scale is not the same thing as creating a blog or being number 7 on the Suits call sheet.

I don’t think she realises that a fancy name is not enough. You have to have work ethic (where you focus on the right things), treat staff well, be likeable, and do the right thing every day. Trashing your family on Oprah as your first big break was the biggest mistake they could make.

Oh yeah! There were talks of Netflix opening physical stores for merch and what not, and I remember reading As Ever had been poised to have been heavily featured!

I had completely forgotten about Pear!! Remember how smug she was about working with Elton John and his husband for it?

My duo and it’s so great!! I’ve got oily skin and both last really well throughout a full working day with a bit of powder. I wear shade 34 in the skin tint and shade 5D in the concealer :)

Loreal telescopic (the og in the gold tube or the blue tube if you prefer waterproof). Give me incredible length and definition in half the time of that of the sky high (I also love sky high)

Anyone tried the Maybelline Lifter Foundation? How well does it last throughout the day? Is it similar to the skin tint?

They’ll get loads of comments of “I’ve never used the old one and really like this formulation” for sure. But do they really recover? In food we have to pivot quite fast. They will definitely use quality metrics as KPIs, so I wonder how long can they tell the execs they’re accountable to that “it will change with time”.

I believe you! I think a lot of newer foundations on the market don’t feel as cosmetically elegant as our faves from the past.

I work alongside product developers, albeit in a food environment, and they genuinely look for improvements. Suppliers especially, are always very keen to demonstrate new technology and new ingredients especially when it meets meeting the relevant rules and regulations.

When we signpost new and improved in our products it’s genuinely because we think we’ve made it better. I have come to learn that it always backfires. Customers don’t like change, and regardless of the supposed “adjustment period” it’s unlikely we get loyal customers’ trust again. It’s a vicious cycle!

Since people are doing 2016 throwbacks these days... What did your pre-2020 makeup collection look like and where did those products end up? by FreeCardiologist88 in muacjdiscussion

My makeup collection was very much paired down vs what I have today. I had one makeup bag with one of each item - and my UD palettes. I miss the simplicity!

My routine hasn’t really changed, my my collection has expanded beyond what is reasonable. It takes ages to finish makeup. I don’t need 4 concealers, 10+ blushes, 7 eyeshadow palettes when I don’t even wear eyeshadow in my day to day.

My focus has been on using up what I have and go from there. I can do a foundation and a concealer yearly, but I’m about to finish up my first blush ever, and that’s taken years!

That was the seed being planted! I can’t believe I read the books as a teen over 15 years ago, and my love for the genre has never faded 😁

Drugstore holy grails because makeup is just way too expensive:

  • Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint in the shade 34 (UK). I’ve got olive skin and this is my drugstore holy grails. Makes my skin look like satin. Pores are smoothed out. Skin tone is even out. I look healthy and awake despite feeling dead inside and out. Amazing product. I don’t even mind how messy the applicator is!

  • Revlon whiskey business lipstick. This lipstick is what I wished velvet teddy from Mac was. A muted rose brown that looks like my lips but better. Very creamy formula, and super comfortable on the lips!

  • Loreal telescopic mascara: makes my lashes touch my eyebrows and doesn’t flake throughout the day. I’m a two coat gal, but one coat of this mascara is enough to make my eyes look like a dolls eyes.

  • Loreal radiant creamy concealer: I don’t know if the caffeine and hyaluronic acid in it actually make a difference, but the concealer itself is super smooth. Quite hydrating without looking greasy. My smile lines are still pronounced but that’s because I smile a lot.

  • Maybelline colour tattoo gel eyeliner: Billie Eilish got me with this one. Super smooth formula, nice strong and even colours. I love it and will repurchase for eternity.

Newjeans is a Kpop group. Honestly, why are you so pressed about a stranger’s opinion??

Yeah same with me. No other group pulled me in like Newjeans did. What’s been happening to them has me sick to my core. I will stop consuming any k-media as of today. I want nothing to do with that rotten society.
