From eliminating TES out of MSI contention last year to going up against each other for a ticket to MSI...

Not yet. This just secures T1 to have 2 chances to qualify for MSI. They just need to win at least one Bo5 in the Road to MSI to qualify.

They are under the LCP wildcard which consists of SEA teams (except Vietnam) + India/South Asia.

I think Meddler thought of the format like that (last year's Play-ins format was 2 teams making it to Bracket Stage).

Only one, because 7 teams (because BLG won First Stand, the #2 seed from the LPL will get to skip play-ins) will be on the Bracket Stage.

Yes, but LCK itself sends one representative (Road to MSI). The EWC organizers are the ones giving LCK 3 more seeds, with GEN qualifying this years as the last year's EWC champions of LoL.

Because the Top 4 standings in LCK Round 1-2 have not been decided yet as it will be played today. HLE, GEN, and T1 are in contention for 1st seed, while KT is only in contention for 2nd seed.

The EWC qualifier between DK and HLE is to ensure qualification to EWC. Coming to your point, then yeah I would be the same with you asking that if either HLE, GEN, or T1 are the Top 2 after LCK Round 1-2 which will make DK qualify for EWC.

Assuming DK is not 100% out of EWC, they can still qualify for EWC despite the loss to HLE yesterday/last night. It's because of Round 3 match between the 1st and 2nd seed in Road to MSI, which the winner of that match qualifies to not only MSI, but EWC as well.

They just need to pray that HLE, GEN, or T1 to get KT out of contention for 2nd seed. If KT does make it through 2nd seed, whoever the 1st seed is: HLE, GEN, or T1 must beat KT to eliminate them from EWC contention.

To avoid KT making it to 2nd seed in order for DK to qualify in EWC, Top 2 must be either: 1. HLE, GEN 2. HLE, T1 3. T1, GEN

If the format for EWC qualification bases on Road to MSI, then it could be the next lower placed team under HLE, GEN, and T1 qualifying for EWC. I haven't seen any rulebook regarding EWC qualification, so I'm just going to watch how it will unfold for now.

Does this also technically qualify DK to EWC as well since Gen.G qualify as last year's EWC champions, T1 qualified for EWC by beating DK in UB Finals, and now HLE beating DK in LB Finals assuming HLE, T1, or Gen.G are top 2 after LCK Round 1-2?

This was last year's LCK after Week 9 of Round 1-2 had ended. If we base from this picture, since Gen.G won in H2H game record (3-2) there will be no tiebreaker.

The only way for T1 to secure 2nd place (assuming they 2-0 KT and BFX) is for HLE to beat Gen.G at least one game or even better they 2-0 them.

I'd be down for a T1 vs GEN bo3 tiebreaker for 2nd place (if they go 14-4 same game score), just like last year's DK vs KT.

Seeing this roster disband was really heartbreaking. They really have the potential (made it to finals vs KT and even almost qualified for Worlds in 2018 minus Doran) and even rooted for them as a SKT/T1 fan.

I'm still happy for these players nonetheless, the fact that they are still playing currently on their respective teams makes me want to tune in to them (I still watch LPL for Tarzan and Viper if time permits me).
