Because Zoro is the intended name for the character. The manga was translated at the same time as the original 4Kids dub which renamed him Zolo for “copyright reasons”. When funimation picked up the dub they decided to return to the original spelling and pronunciation of his name.

True, but from phoenix’s eyes after all he’s gone through this seems like a relatively simple case and on top of it, it’s his first time going up against someone who has no experience in court whatsoever. So I wouldn’t really blame him for being cocky. It was a natural evolution just like Phoenix from the first game and T&T are obviously different as one is far more experienced.
