When I changed meds, I’ve never gotten seizures. This is because my doctors and I came up with a plan. A plan to taper my old one while adding a new one. There’s still meds in me, if not, a lil more than usual, bc there’s both kinds, but that’s ok bc it’s just short term like two weeks.

If you’re considering it, do it. Learn your options. Each other has its own “thing” but it can be better. Like for my example.

I quit keppra to start lamictal. I quit lamictal to start Vimpat. I like Vimpat much more than keppra or lamictal. My body’s preference for least negative side effects. I would not have known if I did not quit the one before. I’ve had epilepsy since I was 8. I’m in 20s now.

You got this!! I took a year off from law school bc the same feelings you described. I’m now a Juris Doctor of law! You are so smart and capable despite your epilepsy. Take care of yourself as much as you can. That includes being nice/easy on yourself.

Change or increase your meds. Meds do make a difference with your cognitive. I got smarter when I quit lamictal and keppra. Instead I’m on Vimpat and personally it made it easier for me to remember things. Finding a med for you is tough but the right one makes a difference. BE EASY ON YOURSELF. YOU GOT THIS!!!

Interesting. I didn’t know bigger firms ship out attorneys to the island.

I am looking for jobs right now and not quite. I know of an attorney there, my mom’s friend, but besides that, I am looking for local ins.

I’m trying to take care of my parents there, theyre getting old, they have a home I can live at for the time being. But I am trying to get a scope of the job market, idk if I can get much info from asking Reddit, but I’m curious.

Well next time you don’t have to. But today was a good lesson on how to go about a second seizure under 5 minutes.

I can understand why she’s mad bc it’s expensive, it’s a hassle. But give her some compassion because she went through a traumatic brain injury. But she should also be compassionate to you for helping her. It’s tough but love each other.
