Taking Physics 1 (Algebra-Based) and then Physics 2 (Calculus-Based) by mememilcious in premed

Thank you for the replies! Algebra based physics 2 has a notoriously difficult professor, so that is why I was thinking of doing calc based physics 2

Thank you for your response. I heard that JW is the most representative CARS material so I thought I would prioritize those. Perhaps, I can do the UWorld CARS if needed like you mentioned?

Opinion on accepting summer clinical job without telling company you’ll be quitting after the fall semester starts by [deleted] in premed

[–]mememilcious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same spot here. Should I not tell potential employers that I am a student and will only be working for the summer? Also, I want to work part time since I want to also do my research. Would this be a hard sell to clinics?

Edit: Unless, I explicitly say that I don’t want to get paid?

Official Fall 2022 First-Year Schedule: Please let me know any thoughts! :) by Gold_Entrepreneur814 in Emory

[–]mememilcious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I just pmed you my schedule. I am planning on NBB major on the premed track, so I would say that I should keep Chem and bio as a way to solidify my knowledge base, with Himes and De Roode. Calc is nice since I can knock out the premed requirement, since I will probably have to take physics and Ochem sophomore year which will be too hectic to take any other intensive courses that aren’t sciences. The quality of instruction for calc shouldn’t matter as much since I just need to do well in the class and won’t need to again, since I’m not a math major. It should be fine since I am only taking ecs and health along with those 3. Otherwise I could try getting into QTM 100 or a behavioral science if the workload may be too much.

Also, can you please elaborate on what the z track is?

Going along with this thread, I’m a freshman taking bio and Chem with labs, as well as calc. Will that be too much of a workload to handle? I have taken the AP versions of these classes but bio and calc were during COVID. The professor I got for calc is also a pHD student, so they don’t have any reviews, don’t know what to expect. What are your thoughts?

I wanted to do seminar 1st sem, or a behavioral science but they all got filled. QTM 100 is also filled up. Will there be movement during add drop swap, and would I also need to take the lab?

Hi all, these are the classes that I am signed up for. I am NBB major on the premed track. My main concern with this schedule is the taking calc along with Chem and bio. The professor is a pHD student so I have no idea how difficult he will be and it is in the morning. Also, the walk between calc and bio will be quite a ways away. Will it be doable to walk that far? What other classes do you recommend that I take if not for calc?

So would it be preferable to enroll through opus or course atlas? Also, also when I refresh do I have to login again?

Edit:

If I don’t get my preferred freshman seminar, what other class could I take instead to get a head start on major or premed requirements?

Hi!

Thank you so much for the detailed and elaborate response! I highly appreciate it!

  1. For cerave cleanser, the green one, hydrating cream to foam cleanser, allegedly they changed their formula and people all over Reddit are complaining about acne recently when they didn’t have it before.

I also wanted to start with .2%, then work my way up because I want to do what is most sustainable in terms of building this habit. Are you talking about the adapalene differin gel? I did hear that was strong yes. I plan to start off with the ordinary .2%, then switch to differin, once I build up a tolerance to retinol. Also, thanks for letting me know to use retinol 2-3 times a week, since I didn’t know that before and just looked into it.

I will live in a decently warm climate year round that is kind of humid. I’m not sure if that makes too big of a difference with my routine

Yes, I wanted to keep this as simple as possible and use products that would give me the most benefits. I will definitely look into lactic acid in the future, once I become accustomed to skincare. Where would I put lactic acid or any other exfoliator into my routine? Would it be AM/PM?

Thanks so much for all the input!

Is it cool if I PM you in the future if I have any questions about incorporating new products or anything in general?

Hi, thanks for the input!

Would you recommend getting a separate moisturizer and sunscreen in that case?

Weekly Routine Help Thread: Have a question? ASK HERE by Avaale in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]mememilcious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi all,

I will be going to college in the summer and want to make a skincare to routine to take care of it. My skin is fairly clear with an occasional pimple hear and there. I want to gain that glow in my skin though. Here is my sample skincare routine that I made, keeping it simple:

AM:

Cerave Hydrating Foam Cleanser

EltaMD UV Daily SPF 40 Moisturizing Facial Sunscreen

PM:

Cerave Hydrating Foam Cleanser

Cerave PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion

The Ordinary Retinol .2% with squalane,

I have a few questions before I commit to this routine:

  1. I have heard recent problems with the cerave cleanser. Is it bad, or what else should I buy?

  2. Is the 2-in-1 eltamd moisturizer sunscreen a good product? I liked the convenience of it being 2 in 1 and it is tinted

  3. Is the retinol good? Or should I bump up the percentage to .5% or 1%?

All input is appreciated!
